Check out this "news" site.

http://www.alternet.org/

I don't think you get any more biased than that. Except for the 12,000 other Internet "news" sources. :P

Of course it's biased.

It has an audience, it appeals to that audience. Fox news does the same thing. People have been doing this for hundreds, if not thousands of years, stop making a big freaking deal of it and just understand that it happens, then go off to defend whatever news source you claim isn't biased.

Why did you post this?

Eaaaasy, fishstickz
Code to the left of him, code to the right of him, code in front of him compil'd and thundered. Programm'd at with shot and $SHELL. Boldly he typed and well. Into the jaws of C. Into the mouth of PERL. Debug'd the 0x258.

He has a point, he stated opinion, and got a bit too offensive there at the end when he told Obi to go defend his "unbiased" news source.

I don't see anyone telling Joncy or JM to simmer in the Joncy thread.
I had a blog. It sucked.

A better question is why did the OP post this?

"Check out this website! It's biased! LOL!"

What did he expect would happen?

A rational discussion about the effects of bias would be far more likely to be subsquent to a well-thought-out OP about the subject than simply "<link> Discuss."

So, I put my two cents in the topic, instead. People would have still assumed an exterior motive, and flamed me for it. Just ignore them.

I think it's funny how people destroy any points they may have made with blind bias.

It's obviously a joke site...

Suppose you list some of your ideas about how the website can be made more credible and the benefits of doing so. Do you really think people will flame you for that?

What are we discussing in this thread? That there are biased websites on the bloody internet?

There's always an inevitable amount of bias, if not from anything else than human error. News organizations should at least try to be fair. They don't have to be Britannica but they certainly don't have to be Fox.

Wait... which way is this site biased? I can't figure it out.

Funny someone should mention that site. When I worked at Real Networks, they were one of our customers that used the CMS we sold. After that division of Real closed down, they hired one of the ex-Real guys to code them a custom CMS for their site. I even have an alternet T-shirt ;)

What? Why? Even if the people did read it, they obviously wouldn't care. As has already been said, they make their money by doing that. You're obviously contriving reasons to attack me. If you don't have anything useful to add to the thread don't post. What the heck did I ever do to you anyway?

I heart CNN. And the BBC.

That site, not so much.

You know, listing your reasons why the site is biased wouldn't be a bad idea.

It seems a little self righteous to just assume that all of massassi shares your viewpoint. Not saying I disagree. In fact, I have not even looked at the website. I just know you're being self righteous.
