Police Radio Words for letters

Hey

was wondering if anyone had a list of the whole alphabet put into words as used by law enforcement over the radio.

You know how sometimes when you are talking to someone over the phone, and for example you have to give them your name. If my name was Fred, I might say "fudge-robin-empty-dumb"...

Now say for example Im a cop calling in to dispatch for a check on outstanding warrents on whatever unlucky guy I pulled over. What word would i use to represent each letter?

Does this make sense?

Im just looking for an A through Z word letter equivilent

thanks

Or more correctly, the phonetic alphabet. Most numpties in call centres get taught it too.

I know I did when I worked at Topman (for ringing through accounts for people).

How strange. It's the international aviation alphabet so shouldn't really be messed with.

*shrug*

Sorry, there are indeed different words. Military uses the ones you've listed, I think, but around here, police use names (for the most part):

Adam
Baker
Charlie
David
Edward
Frank
George
Henry
Ida
John
King
Lincoln
Mary
Nora
Ocean
Paul
Queen
Robert
Sam
Tom
Union
Victor
William (willy)
X-ray
Young
Zebra

Actually I think they changed a few of those, but that's basically it.
