Jesus. Most intense ending yet in the series.

jibberjabberjibberjabber so spoilers won't appear in the hover-over

The bittersweet reunion of the fleet; Saul leaving his wife to die on the planet, Kara losing the baby, the loss of the Pegasus.

First time a TV episode has left my jaw dropped. When Saul gets off the Raptor and tells Adama that his wife didn't make it...Jesus.

I haven't seen it, but am made happy at the prospect of Saul's wife dieing.

A friend of mine were talking. We don't think she's dead. We're speculating that he just put her to sleep so that she won't rat them out to the Cylons. And that Saul just left her there for there Cylons. To be a little :tinfoil: she might BE a Cylon

A convo a friend of mine had.

I think this is by far the best episode they've done to date, and if it doesn't get some sort of award, I will kill someone. It was quite literally, completely, totally, undeniably, ****ING AWESOME.

Episodes like this are why this show is quickly becoming my favorite show of all time.

Without a doubt, best episode of the series ever.

The scene where Galactica jumps in and drops toward the planet while launching vipers had my Jaw Drop.

THAT was good television.

I literally watched that scene all 3 times they played it.

Stunning. Made my entire week. That was really one of the best hours of television I've seen.

Wow...I've watched it since I got up this morning (and watched it last night when tivo was recording it too).

Favorite episode since the Lords of Kobol, which happens to be what I'm listening to right now.

When Adama got rid of his stache...it caused a warm fuzzy feeling inside. I got a little misty.

I agree, veger. When I saw that I'm like... HOLY FSAIOFFSAIOHASG! THAT'S NOT A BATTLE TACTIC, THAT'S A STUNT!

And Anovis- I agree. I was like "Oooh yeah. The <censored> is gone. Victory is complete."

Best episode in the entire series.

That was a damn fine episode, I rarely feel that kind of tension for a Television Series. To be honest though, I'm surprised they spent that short a time on New Caprica. I figured that was going to be a major plot point for a while to come. But you know what, in the end, all that matter is that I freakin love this show, and this episode was a perfect example of why.

I know. I would have liked the Cylon occupation to last longer.

14something days. Maybe 150 days.
2006-10-21, 6:27 PM #16
The occupation was only about 150 days, but they were there for a full year before the cylon's showed up. At any rate, I'm glad they finally got off. I was getting sick of not seeing space.

Only thing I didn't understand is why Apollo abandoned the Pegasus. Surely he could have jumped in, fired on the basestars long enough for the Gallactica to jump, then jump himself. Instead, he rammed the cylons and fled the ship in a raptor. Did I miss some detail about Pegasus' jump drive or something?
Wikissassi sucks.

The Pegasus was getting hammered. Saving people's lives was far more important than saving the ship. Doing it that way, he knew the crew would get out.
Pissed Off?

Was a one-way trip. He knew it. That's why he stripped it of everything, including his twinkies and pork rines.

He had to sacrifice the Pegasus to help get the rest of the Civilian ships off ground and to save Galactica, which didn't have an evac plan like the Pegasus did.

yay! Lets reply to a spoiler with a spoiler!

He took Pegasus right into the middle of a fight with four basestars, knowing they wouldn't last long. And right before that, Galactica's FTL drive was smashed and inoperable. I'm willing to bet the same thing happened to Pegasus. Their FTL drive got smashed and beat all to hell, or Lee just decided that taking out three basestars with the destruction of the Pegasus was just one hell of a nice move. I think it was three.... Galactica or Pegasus took out one before Pegasus went down. Meh.

I'm still blown away just by the effects in that episode, nevermind the story, which of course was also incredibly well done. Leobon's devious mix of truth and lies that was revealed at the end was definately noteworthy, and I'm glad they made sure to keep him that way and tie it back to Season One.

Also, what happened to Callie and her baby? I missed Exodus part 1, so the last I saw was her running away from the execution. Is she dead? Tyrol seemed too happy at the end to have just lost his wife and child...

...did that really need the spoiler tags? :P

And yeah, I also hope that Gaeta doesn't get written out next week. Another question: who is Jammer? What episodes was he in prior to this season? I don't remember him at all.

This is one of the things I like about the show - even the less-important characters get written for, so when some redshirt character dies (like Duck :( ) it's still a shock, and others like Racetrack, Kat and Hotdog are there when needed (instead of there being just a random bunch of different pilots each ep).

Jammer, to the best of my knowledge, showed up first in the webisodes.

If Gaeta gets written out, I'll be a sad panda. Just like when they wrote Billy out. But to be honest, I'm GLAD they aren't afraid to do that. It'd be boring after awhile if you knew that none of the characters you see weekly wouldn't die.

I'm hoping though, that they'll be about ready to execute him, and he'll prove that he's been on their side the whole time.

The Chief is also one of the main people who think he's a collaborator. But yeah... It wouldn't surprise me too much if the Chief was also the first person Gaeta could convince he wasn't a collaborator, just because he'd have the first hand knowledge about the dead drop.
