MSN and IRC borked?

Maybe it's just my end, but I can't log onto MSN or get Colloquy to connect to zirc. Anyone else experiencing problems?

MSN's working fine for me, but I've been connected pretty much all day :o

Aye, I was on earlier today and I've used up my IT department special (Turn it off then on again). Odd.

EDIT:

After half an hour of trying to connect, I've invoked Sod's/Murphy's Law and it's let me on.

Lock it if you fancy, or post your woes or whatever.

My school seems to have blocked port 6667. Therefore no IRC for me.
Code to the left of him, code to the right of him, code in front of him compil'd and thundered. Programm'd at with shot and $SHELL. Boldly he typed and well. Into the jaws of C. Into the mouth of PERL. Debug'd the 0x258.

irc.zirc.org accepts IRC connections on any of these ports:

6660-6669

7000

21,22,23,25,53,80,110,143

So what's your excuse now? :D

My school silently drops connections with strings that identify them as IRC connections.

Fortunately, IRC over SSL exists (usually port 7001).

However since not all the servers I frequent support it (h8 zirc ) I just route my IRC connections over tor and they are encrypted automatically. Problem solved.

MSN has been broken for a while now on my computer; it was caused by the last round of automatic updates. Someone at SA figured out a workaround but their server is down right now so I can't find it.

In the meantime, aMSN still works fine.

I used it for a while and found it spiffy.

Copy/pasted from SA, where it was copy/pasted from somewhere else, here is the supposed solution to the MSN problems:

1. Hit "run" in the start menu
2. Type "regedit"
3. Open "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MSNMessenger"
4. Delete the folder called MSN Messenger
5. After this MSN Messenger Live will login as normal.
