Just a couple of hours ago, I bought some TDK earbuds for $4.00. I wasn't expecting much from them, yet when I plugged them in, I was shocked (not literally). I could hear the bass and trebble beautifully. Not only that, but I could so easily distingush the bassline from the rest of the music without it seeming like it was standing out. Everything was so perfectly in balance. For only $4.00! These things completely blow away all my more expensive headphone sets, even my studio set.
Kickass!

I hate earbuds. Every pair I've had sound like crap. Almost always tinny, and they can't handle high output, like when I'm on the lawnmower.

However, my Sennheiser HD-457 headphones can, and quite well I might add [http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif]

Glad you found a lucky pair for such a steal. Now just don't break them, or let a dog chew them up. *glares at dog*

I bought a pair of Sony MDRQ33LPs a number of years ago, theyve worked beautifully. Granted, the "theme plates" on the sides broke off long ago, so they look like crap now, but they still sound great.

I never really use earbuds that much,

but the problem I have with them is that they(or some)can be really noisy to the people round you..

Oh, believe me. They can handle high output. I cranked 'em as loud as my ears could take. Not even any distortion! I've always hated earbuds until I found these babies.

/makes love to teh earbuds.

Makes me wonder how good some of the other TDK products are.

Where did you grab them and what was the exact product name? I've got a set of Sony Earbuds, but I need another set of headphones/buds at somepoint soon. My Awia headphones are finally biting the dust after being used for... at least 7 years.

heh, my best pair of earphones are held together with superglue and silver duct tape...

They were made in the late 1980s, if i recall correctly, but they still sound great.

The University of North Carolina has finally found a network server that, although missing for four years, hasn't missed a packet in all that time. Try as they might, university administrators couldn't find the server. Working with Novell Inc., IT workers tracked it down by meticulously following cable until they literally ran into a wall. The server had been mistakenly sealed behind drywall by maintenance workers.

AIWA HP-CN6 > you.

Seriously for only 50 bucks these give great sound quality, AWESOME bass response, and they were cheaper and on paper higher quality than CM's current Sennheisers.

I notice one of the specs are wrong at that site. The jack is 1/8", not 3.5 mm. I can tell because it fits into my 1/8"-to-1/4" adapter more snugly than my 3.5mm headphones do.
The price there is almost $9.00. I picked mine up at a local grocery store (Aldi's). I'm not sure why it was so cheap there.

And I'm still impressed at how the frequencies are all balanced so well.

And it does stretch through the whole audible range (20Hz - 20,000Hz).

Shure and Etymotic make the best earbuds available. Some are in the 50 to 100 dollar range, some are well into the hundreds. No earbud can match a pair of full sized studio quality cans such as top of the line Sennheisers, like HD 580s or something in the updated 600 line, Grado's best, or the various other professional brands.

Obviously Emon, but I don't need anything THAT good.

I'll have to check our Aldi's and see if they have them.

I much prefer ones that clip onto ears. As long as they're not too tight, they're a lot more comfortable.

I have Clip-on for my GBA and for my handsfree set and, though i like them quite a bit better then earbuds (they just never seem to fit my ears correctly. at least one is always on the point of falling off), if I wear them for extended periods (1+ hours) they tend to start hurting my ears.
