I'm looking for an emulator for the original Donkey Kong.
Are they illegal? They have a whole bunch of them in Java et al.

no he'd want arcade colecovision or NES NOT atari

the atari donkey kong is the worst of all so fugly

and technically it isn't legal even for the ancient systems... but somehow i doubt you're going to get sued over it

no... just certain ports of arcade games that are better experience on more powerful systems (and emulators of more powerful systems)

if i had something against the atari 2600 why would i have one with 38 games?

If you own the game anyway, you just don't want to play it on your old system, it's legal. Otherwise, it's illegal, and midgets will beat you down for the playing of them. *gets a stick*

Well, some people say they are legel if you own the original game cartridge and are using the rom as a back up. However, the law actually states that the backup copy has to be created by YOU so downloading roms would be illegal because someone else made the backup copy for you. However, many roms sites tend to neglect this fact.

It hasn't cripled the gaming industry to the point where they'll enforce it like they do with music and movies.
