I've got my computer sitting in the window with the side panel off, drawing in air directly from outside.

EDIT: Also I need something to put on my sign; it still says "Happy Halloween"

I've got some cardboard blocking off the larger gaps; it works well enough to keep my room at a reasonable temperature. If it gets colder I might have to break out the foam and duct tape.

Now start overclocking the bejesus out of it :v:

Yeah, I don't think that "Notify me if the temperature exceeds threshold" actually works. I think you should test it.

Umm... what about moisture?

I thought about that, and really the only thing that might be a problem is rain, which isn't too likely at these sub-zero temperatures. Snow should be blocked by the window screen. Anyways I only have the window open and the computer on when I'm in my room so at the first sign of precipitation it's getting closed.

My GPU is at 32C with the case enclosed and no windows open. :D It is colder than usual in the house though. When it's about 74F in the house, it's about 35C for my graphics card when idle.

My CPU is sitting at 29º C, Mobo at 32º C, and GPU at a staggering 48º C! I need to get an aftermarket cooler for that card.

This is under a wooden desk in an aluminium case with a 120mm Zalman Copper Flower over the CPU, a new copper heatpipe / fan combo from Thermaltake for the southbridge and 2 120mm fans for ventallation in the case.

If I were a jerk kid, which I sometimes am, I would throw stuff at a computer sitting in a window with it's side panel off. You should build a cage and stuff, maybe have a bucket of rocks for defense.

Kyle: If you ever have dew on the grass, you're going to get dew on/in your computer :P

In my room over the summer, I had my desk in the path flow of the air coming from the AC, so I took my back panel off and angled it against a wardrobe to tunnel it through. Kept much cooler than what it's at now.
