What's with the influx of bots lately?

I blame FGR.

I don't think that was a bot.

However, Anovis is both a bot and a Cylon.
Code to the left of him, code to the right of him, code in front of him compil'd and thundered. Programm'd at with shot and $SHELL. Boldly he typed and well. Into the jaws of C. Into the mouth of PERL. Debug'd the 0x258.

Has anyone ever thought about adding that 'captcha' thing where you have to read the symbols from an image to register (most e-mail sites use it to keep bots from registering spam accounts)? It cut all the adbots out of the Spherical forums a few months ago after they added it.

99% of the time they will be bots though, and it's easy enough to ban the remaining 1%

Then the population of Massassi would be halved if the test was retroactive.
