Actually, it's just cause I remember watching it when I was young and want to watch it again but forgot the name :-P. I figure at least one of you will know what movie this is (and whoever gets the name IS AWESOME).

The genre is sci-fi/horror, and the setting is in the future on some post-apoc planet (maybe earth, don't remember). I remember a lot of desert-like landscape but memory's kinda hazy about that.

Now, there is a group of people, not sure how they got there or if they're the only survivors. They are also military; either that or they know how to use guns.

Over the course of the movie, they are attacked by these waves of robots that evolve over the course of the movie. For example, I think the first ones were things that burrowed through the underground, came up, and sliced you up with blades (kinda like those flying blade things in HL2). Later on, they get more advanced (memory fuzzy here) and get more human-like.

Around the middle of the movie, the group picks up this random girl, that in the end happens to be a robot (actually, not sure about this). Anyway, shes important in the end.

Not sure, but it sounds a whole lot like Michael Crichton's book Prey.

Battlestar Galactica? I dunno but i remember a girl-robot thingy in that show.

Prey's not a movie yet (and it's the present, with a very Sphere/Andromeda Strain feel to it).

Pretty sure this is... Screamers... or Screechers... or something like that. I never saw it, but I saw previews for it and it looked really cool but too scary.

Oh, I know it's not a movie yet, and this movie would almost certainly have been made before the book was written anyway. I'm just saying, it sounds a lot like the plot from Prey. Minus the post-apocalyptic planet thing.

It sounded like Planet of the Apes until you mentioned the robots.

Maybe he just combined all these movie plots together so we'd be consistently guessing films that are "sort of like it."

Looks like the star of Screamers will also be in a film called Prey. Speak of the devil, eh?
