The Armistice Day Challenge
2006-11-11, 7:40 PM #1
On the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month in 1918, the Great War had at last come to an end. I am celebrating the notion of world peace by making war on my liver and downing 11 shots of high-quality Swedish vodka by 11:11:11 PM. LET'S SEE IF I'LL MAKE IT. :argh:

I found out it takes 10,237.50 Hershey's Kisses to kill me.

Nifty little calculator

Oh yes, and happy Armistice Day and all that 1900's stuff. Here's a picture of Harold Lloyd hanging from a clock face in Safety Last!, obviously inspired by the end of the war.

Shot 2 down the hatch and I'm feeling fine. Here are some contextual images to get us all in the right mindset.

We had 2 minutes of silence today. I was at this huge fair thing and it was completely silent. Kind of creepy actually, but it's nice to see that everyone is so respectful.

I'm on to eight. But now I'm switching to Creme de Menthe because I'm out of.... oh wait, no, I'm not! I have plenty of vodka to go. Feeling a little looser.... I'd switched to Creme de Menthe, much syprier, and less alcohol (30% instead of 40%), so I might have to do an extra shot.

Thought to be honest, i'd probably choose 11 shots of something that doesn't taste quite as foul as vodka

I dunno about the US, but we call it remembrance day and it's not just a mark of remembrance for the Great War, it's to remember all who have died in war and sort of especially those that died protecting our country.

I wore my poppy with pride.

I didn't see anyone selling poppies this year, so I haven't got one. But I'm having a bit of an insane football weekend and watching on MoTD when they repeated the silences - 60,000-odd people in silence, really something. During the silence at the beginning of the Man U game though, a couple of people in the crowd were making noise and it just makes me want to spit.

In the US it was changed to Veteran's day in the 1950s. Our jazz band had a concert for it last night detailing America's major conflicts. It was pretty cool.
It took a while for you to find me; I was hiding in the lime tree.

11 shots in an hour and a half will get him fairly ****ed up, though.

It really depends on the person. I'm not very large in size or stature (5'6" 130 lbs), but I can do (and have done) eleven shots in an hour and a half, and not felt all that drunk from it. I've also got a pretty high alcohol tolerance, and I am used to doing doubles, so singles don't do much to me. It mostly depends on alcohol tolerance, stomach contents, perception of how you will be affected and a less tangible "manliness quotient. " I feel Grismath scores strongly on all categories besides the latter.

Class, what do we call someone who's stat's size after consuming 11 shots in an hour and a half? Yes, you in the back? That's correct! We'd call them "dead."
