Nice, but only a couple of them are usable for wallpapering because of their dimensions.

The last one makes me think of the Ents in LotR.

Yeah, the dimensions bit is unfortunate, but the last one is definitely my favorite, and is actually my wallpaper right now ;)

meh.

Some are good photos.

Some were just taken with nice cameras and messed around with in photoshop.

Sure, they look absoultely amazing, but truly awesome shots don't need to be manipulated.

Some of them are overly contrived... a bit too flashy. Lots o' the beauty of nature lies in subtlety.

That said, they are still freakin' fantastic.

I never said that. I just dont like them all.

They're nice pictures, but low res and not that useful for wallpapers, in my opinion.

Mandolux is better.

They're also an infringement of the copyright that's placed upon them by their original authors. Most of these pictures are taken off deviantART. I could know, since I suggested #20 (which is actually a stock picture) for a daily deviation.

EDIT: I realise they're linking to the original image, but according to the authors, which I contacted, they simply don't have permission to display it in this way.

Oh I understand they're not the best PHOTOS ever. But they're still some of the best pictures I've ever seen, regardless.

I am not sure of what degree of manipulation you're talking about but I don't know if I really agree with you. I usually edit things like brightness and contrast on my photos. I see no difference between making subtle improvements in photoshop and making improvements manually when enlarging a photo in the darkroom.

I never understand how people can put so much money and time into photography, and then upload thier finished work for people to see at 640x480. It's so dumb. It's one thing if it's just a quick thing to show people, but quite another if it's a showcase or something.

How else would you prevent someone from stealing the image and printing it themselves? I would assume photography is not just about TAKING the photos, but also selling them as prints as well. That's probably kind of how they make their money...
