applied for writing internship - vibes please!

I just applied for a writing internship at Big Huges Games. I think my application is pretty strong, but still, I would love for some Massassi good vibes, please! This sort of thing would nearly be my dream come true. :D

I provided a link now in my first post, if anyone's interested in exactly what I'm applying for in their company.

Also, SillyC: you posted a Vibe. I asked for vibes. I need more than one magazine cover, thank you!

You write me a good Rise of Legends expansion story, you hear? The original was a bit... lacking.

I want a story where random Massassi usernames are thrown pawned off as actual words. Like Operation Madquack.

Bah, all of you wishing Geb good luck are merely wasting your breath. It is known to all that Geb has no chance to survive. Even Geb knows it. I bet he's making his time even now.

Dear Scott,

Thank you for your interest in the Writing Intern position at Big Huge
Games. We certainly appreciate your interest in working for us.

Unfortunately, the position has been filled. I would like to ask that
you please stay tuned to the Big Huge Website for more openings as we
continue to expand. I think that you have a unique set of skills and I
would like to keep you in mind for the future.

I want to wish you the best of luck as you continue to develop your
career.

Sincerely,

Ben Walsh
Associate Producer
Big Huge Games

I have though applied for another internship (this time of the design variety) over at Bethesda Softworks a little over a week ago. You can check out the details here:

http://www.bethsoft.com/links/job_112906_designintern.htm

So far, I just got a response e-mail (initially asking me to resend most of the files, as only my cover letter got through the first time) saying that it'd be sent to the team for consideration. We'll see. Unfortunately, even if I do get this one (which would be a little easier for me, as they make RPGs and not strategy games), they're farther away -- at least an hour, and with DC traffic, more like at least double that. Still, it'd be pretty awesome.

They're already Big and Huge, and they're still trying to expand? What's wrong with them?

Apparently they want to be bigger and huger. They should really look into just getting their employees fatter, or hire taller ones... >.>

I bet you're bigger than anybody there!!

I'm sorry you didn't get it Geb, but as I am having to accept myself right now, the only way to approach these things is to apply for everything and just see what sticks.

maevie: True that.

Emon: They're located in my state, and they had an internship position open, so I'm trying it out. I really need to work up a online portfolio so I can better apply for the art-stuff too. Bethesda, Big Huge Games, and Firaxis (i.e. Sid Meier) are the big companies around here, which is both awesome (that I'm in a state with a number of videogaming companies, even big ones) and lame (because most of them are PC strategy, simulation, and RPG, and out of all the games I play, strategy and simulation are the ones I don't play, and the RPGs I play are console, pen and paper or free-form, not Balder's Gate, Elder Scrolls and the like -- though I'd be into Oblivion I'm sure).

In any case, don't get all googly-eyed yet. Anyone can apply, but few get accepted. :P
