Heh, earlier today I found a wiki article where a vandal felt it fun to post a gargantic picture of a penis in the middle of the text.

What satisfaction could you possibly get out of vandalising an internet encyclopedia? >.>;;

That's nothing.
Partially due to my actions, this article was, for a very long time, a battleground between Wikipedia editors and 4channers. It seems that there's a temporary lull, which is good.

-I wonder if I still have the screen cap of the first edit...

I think I actually read the article while that was going on, I remember chuckling to myself.

hehe, someone I vaguely know was having a competition with his friend to see who could basically be the biggest a-hole, and so he erased all entires for the holocaust and just put "Never happened"

(he changed it back almost immediately)

8th grade science, which is now biology, earth science, and a little physics.

Jarl, just out of a curiosity that's been nagging me for some time, why do you insist on formulating all your posts in the following format:

[POST BODY/OBSERVATION/CONJECTURE]

-[SCHITZOPHRENIC AFTER-STATEMENT or ATTRIBUTION TO FICTICIOUS CHARACTER]

I would guess it's some kind of geography/environment-type thing.

Yeah, Earth Science is pretty much geology, meteorology, oceanography, limnology, and astronomy. The state, though, this year has pretty much dictated what I teach, and that leaves out most of the astronomy (my fave), all the meteorology, all the oceanography, and most of the limnology. Which leaves the part I like the least... :-P

Also, while we're at it, "Some time" is approaching five years. But, whatever.

I post in this format because other people don't. On the first forum I ever joined, I found that often I'd have something extra to say after I posted, so I'd edit the posts and add the little extra bit at the end. After a while, I started adding dashes to the extra bits.
Eventually, I started just posting it that way most of the time.

I probably would have stopped doing it that way, except I joined another forum which had sigs disabled. In order to maintain a semblence of individuality, I started agressively posting with the format, never dropping it ever.

It's part of me, now. Often, I have to force myself to not post with the format, say, on 4chan or other places where it would not be expected, or if I just don't want anyone to know it's me. See how that works? You pick up a common habit, then when you drop it it's like you dissapear.

Anyhoo, I guess I do it out of habit. Nobody else does it. When others pick it up, they stop soon thereafter. It's like having a signature which is relevant to the topic (or not).
Plus, it bugs you, and I like that.
