Good Famicom games?

So I got myself the ability to play actual Famicom (Japanese NES) cartidges, and I was wondering what sort of games I should look for on eBay and such. That is, I'd be interested in owning anything that they never released in the U.S. The only game that really comes to mind so far is the actual Super Mario Bros. 2 (that became the Lost Levels in Super Mario All-Stars).

Thanks for any suggestions you all can give me. :)

Actually Lost Levels was released in the US, just not in the original form. It was on Super Mario All Stars for SNES, and on Super Mario Bros DX for Gameboy Color.

I don't keep up with Japanese-only games like some people do, sorry. :(

Story time! Way back in the day when they had made Super Mario Bros. 2 in Japan, Nintendo of America didn't want it because it was "More of the same", and it was apparently very difficult.

So instead they took the japanese game "Doki Doki Paniku", replaced the sprites of the Arabian Family that were the original heroes with Mario Characters and whoosh, out the door it went as Super Mario Bros. 2 for the western market.

(useless info): Lost Levels was also featured on the Game Boy Color game Super Mario Deluxe.

OK, now that we've all had our share of repeating information and explinations, I suppose nobody actually has any suggestions for Famicom games...?

Famicom Wars. It's the precursor to one of the greatest games ever, gameboy wars.

If I had a Famicom, this game would be at the top of my want list.

Thanks :)

I'm debating whether I'd want to get games where needing to know Japanese would be paramount or not...

Kirby's Adventure is a MUST get for a NES if you ask me.

If you're interested in Japan exclusive games though, I'll get back to you on that. o:
