Drizz. sign up for this one. It's open to the US as well.

That makes me very angry.

Oh shut up, mort. The US Signup was open to the EU. Either that or a few of my british friends got in illegally.

I do not know if it is actually open to US or not but I'll sign up just in case...
2004-07-07, 11:34 AM #13
No, the US signup wasn't open to Europe.

The Europeans that got in had some links to WoW fan sites, or game review sites.

Otherwise, you had to live in the US, Canada or Korea to get in.

Oh well, either way, not many Americans are gonna sign up just because it says EU signup and that'll scare them away.

It still really annoys me that Americans are going to take the places of Europeans.

Guess what? More Americans will be playing than anyone else. More Americans will be playing on foreign servers than anyone else. So stop your whining. That's the way a beta is supposed to be run.

[to mort]...It's a free video game beta. i swear every other post i see from you says something about how much america sucks, or how we are such a bad country. well guess what? it's being developed in america, so i think they can do whatever the **** they want to with their closed beta.

Uh, I very much doubt there'll be more Americans than Europeans in total.

Europeans were not allowed to enter the American beta, but Americans are allowed to enter the European beta. How exactly does that make any sense?

i think that if you're a european, then you should be happy to get a chance to test it at all. i mean, im sure blizzard could have not gone out of their way to set up a server for europeans, then there wouldnt be this problem, but since they did and still let people from the US apply, people still complain.

Be happy that they are going out of their way to give you a chance to test this.

The LA for the European beta is the exact same as the one for the American beta save a few things (ie. French law being used for violation of the LA). Look through it and tell me where it denies anyone, European or American.

Edit - Also, there probably is more people from the US that will play than people from Europe but dammit, there is a ****load more in Asia than anywhere else.

I know for a fact that Europeans were not able to enter the first beta.

Blizzard is a company and the only thing it cares about is money. European money is as good as American. If the first beta was closed to Europeans, it was because they weren't ready to serve European customers technically. But they surely can still serve the American customers now, when this later European beta is ready to launch.

The University of North Carolina has finally found a network server that, although missing for four years, hasn't missed a packet in all that time. Try as they might, university administrators couldn't find the server. Working with Novell Inc., IT workers tracked it down by meticulously following cable until they literally ran into a wall. The server had been mistakenly sealed behind drywall by maintenance workers.
