I'm trying to write a report in microsoft word. It seems like everytime I hit return or start a new line or start a new anything it resets the font to Times New Roman with 12 point font and all standard. Its really frustrating when I'm trying to construct pages for a report for school. Can anybody help me out? I just dont want it resetting back to the default font all the time. I've been through all the options and cannot find it.

Edit your STYLES rather than your fonts. (From the format menu)

Change the 'Normal' (default) style to what you want. It's good practice - I tend now to keep the style format editor open as a tab when I'm using Word - it gives you much better control over your document.
