Are you going to hell?
2006-11-27, 3:03 PM #1
Are you?
2006-11-27, 3:07 PM #2
Probably, but I've never believed that one has a set path in the afterlife if there even is one.
2006-11-27, 3:07 PM #3
I haven't killed anyone. Though I'll keep you posted if I suddenly do

Is killing someone the only action that leads to an eternity of damnation?

Does Hell have good food?

Dude, everyone is going to hell, no way around it. No one is good enough to get into heaven (except the mormons). Kudos to anyone who gets the reference.

I'm atheist by the way, I don't care if there's a hell or not.
DO NOT WANT.
2006-11-27, 3:10 PM #7
If there's a hell and it's a bad place, I hope not. However, I find it more likely that hell would simply be to cease to exist.
2006-11-27, 3:11 PM #8
The hell I refer to isn't the "having a beer with the Devil" kind of hell.

I ask regarding the old school "the fire is not quenched, and the worm does not die" and "there shall be much wailing and gnashing of teeth" and "lake of fire and brimstone" hell.

Fine, what I meant to say was.

"I haven't murdered anyone with a jackhammer in their sleep and rape the remains of their body. But I'll keep you posted."

I suppose I could always kill someone out of self defence. But that is a different story. And no, I haven't done that yet either.

That doesn't answer the question.

Fine screw it. I don't think I'll be going to hell.

Edit.

And I think murder in most cases is an insta-hell.

Probably. Then again, everyone's going to hell so it doesn't matter.

Of course, who's to say that the whole heaven / hell thing is the right way to go? Look at all the other religons (Most ancient) that have different versions of the after-life. Eventually the current ones will become ancient, and the future will 'rofl' at us like we rofl at say, Egypt's religon.

I'm much more likely to think "I don't know" but according to most philosophies and belief ideals, I'm probably not, so that's what I put down.

I imagine I am, if I stay my present course, but then again, God (or equivalent) might be more forgiving than I'm giving Him (It) credit for...

Hell yes. At least there'll be decent music.

(And for the record: I don't believe in any afterlife. You live, you die, you leave your footsteps in life. The end.)
2006-11-27, 4:19 PM #18
Simply put, I don't know what the hell happens when you die. You may just rot in the ground, you may go to hell, I really don't care because at my point in life I'm not there yet.

Assuming there is an afterlife (which I don't), hypothetically I would go to hell.
2006-11-27, 4:29 PM #19
No one is going to hell. God forgives all, but only if you ask? That's BS, he doesn't care if you ask, he forgives you anyway.
Wikissassi sucks.

I don't know what, where, why, or if hell is, so I chose the closest option possible with "don't believe in an afterlife."

But what if murdering one person will save the lives of millions, or thousands? Hell, what if it saves two? Wouldnt it be a good thing to kill that person?

Im unsure myself but just thought i woudl bring it up for debate on the topic of what makes you go to hell

FYI: If I have a say in it, i aint going to hell.

If there is a god, Im sure he asks for your preference. Kinda like resteraunts asking if you would like "smoking or non-smoking". ie. "Would you like eternal damnation, or be forced to wear these goofy wings and play the harp?"

Yes, but only in so much as the Fields of Elysium can be called Hell (which they usually are seeing as they are the top level of hell and are technically separated from god according to classical mythology like stuff)

Maybe you mean the right thing, your wording is goofy. Elysium is the "heaven" side of Hades, while Tartarus is the "hell" side. Greeks also believed in a waiting area known as the house of dust.

Anyways even being Protestant, I still get annoyed by old southern-style fire and brimstone evangelists using the scare tactics of hell to convert people. It worked in the middle ages, not today

Ok.. does that mean that we all can do whatever bad thing we feel desire to do and it will automatically be forgiven? I don't believe so
This is retarded, and I mean drooling at the mouth

True, but in some classical Christian literature the Fields of Elysium were cast as a portion of limbo on the top level of hell. The argument was that the entire Grecian afterlife existed within the various levels of hell, and that because the Greeks were not Christians, even the most virtuous Greek could only ever earn a spot in limbo, thus the Grecian Heaven of Elysium becomes part of the Christian Limbo.

I'm a pretty good kid, but I said probably anyway. come to think of it, I don't know why. I'm exceptionally boring, though I tend to blaspheme on a regular basis. Oh and I wear pants, so according to mi amiga, I'm headed for insta hell. meh, y friends and I have a wing reserved - we're taking over the joint.

i am probably going to hell.

Murder isn't a sin if you're killing people who believe in a different invisible man than you do.

I personally don't believe in an afterlife. You get stuck in the ground, you decay, the end.

I'd like to think no, but there's so many rules, I figured I'd play it safe and vote probably.
