The Wii launched in Japan today and it was just as successful as it was in the United States. The Wii launches in Australia on the 7th and Europe on the 8th.

I don't want to ignore him completely, every once in a while he has some worthwhile input. He just makes too many threads, particularly about Wii. Couldn't he use one of the other 12 threads we have about Wii already? SAJN is what we used to call "attention hungry", before the psychologists and psychyatrists were popular.

Not buying it at launch. I might buy it in a few months when it drops below 2000:- (<$230) along with a Xbox360.

I think it's because they launched the DS in America first and it was a huge success. Then again people are still camping out stores in Japan for a DS LITE! I guess Nintendo just can't keep up with the Japanese demand for DS Lites. That's insane.

Apparently the Japan release isn't getting Wii sports bundled in with the console. Poor people :(

I'll probably wait for about six years to buy a Wii. I just bought a Gamecube six months ago for a very small sum of money and it's been excellent.

Not interested.

That said I do have a Wii on pre-order as a present for a friend. For the record I had to go to three different stores yesterday to find one that hadnt already pre-sold their allotment.

I probably won't buy it at launch. The Virtual Console alone is enough to warrant the purchase for me, but I wish it would also get the kind of games that the Gamecube didn't have, like Hitman, GTA, and Forza Motorsport. You know, the kind of games that we're not used to seeing on a Nintendo console.
Looks like we're not going down after all, so nevermind.

i will buy wii when it will be available in hungary, it is said that only 40.000 consoles will arrive in January so that's pretty crap, and they will be around 360$. :(

I got a Wii on launch (with two extra sets of controllers and nunchucks). Didn't get a classic cause they got like one.

Now I'm trying to get a fourth set before next week (people coming!) and I can't find them anywhere.

Went to one Target and they had one nunchuck hanging - rest was clear. Went to another Target and they had - literally- 20 classic controllers hanging. Grabbed one of those... Yet they had nothing else

Still I cannot find a 4th remote... :( Especially since Wal-mart is being anal and is not selling stuff again till the 6th due to some relaunch sale (lame!)

I live in the past :( The dollar is really cheap right now so I miscalculated.

The Wii is 2700:- here, which is around $380. I will not buy it before it is below 2000:- ($280) unless there's lots of games I want (SSB:B, I'm looking at you!). Because you know, controllers etc. are expensive and won't drop in price.

Indeed. Though many of his non-wii related threads are worthwhile imo.

But anyway, the Wii hype just makes me want the wii even less. Every time I pass by a wii thread, I'm once again reminded why I don't want one -- I am absolutely sick of hearing about it. It's a frugging console. If it's good, fine, enjoy it. Make an occasional thread about it. Do NOT make 20 thousand threads about it.

If there's a motion to consolidate all Wii discussion into a single thread (or subforum even) I'm all for it (doubt that will happen, but if it does, you know my vote). You can live in your happy land and if I feel like it I'll go visit it when I've calmed down and gotten this overcooked taste of Wii out of my mouth.
