The Gift Giving Idea Thread
2006-12-08, 2:23 PM #1
We all know the best part of Christmas is getting things, but, along with it, comes the obligation to give gifts to others. So, in this thread, we help each other out, by posting what we are getting for various friends, family, and acquaintances.

Yes, this is just a thinly veiled excuse to not have to think or do much shopping. So what, you'll benefit from it too.

  • Mother: Cheap knockoff gold watch. JCPenny. $30 -and- Pride and Predjudice DVD. Target. $15
  • Father: Gasolione powered leaf blower. Home Depot. $75 (mostly for me, actually)
  • Teenage Sister: 30-trip bus pass. $30. (I don't want to drive her around anymore, so mostly for me)
  • Younger Brother: Call of Duty 3 (Wii). Target. $50 (also, mostly for me)
  • Youngest brother: Any legos in the $20-30 range. Target.
  • Girlfriend: No freaking clue (this is where you guys come in!)
  • Friend with beard: Funny T-Shirt. Mall. $10

Posting links to items would be nice, too. Mine are pretty standard items, though.

Mother : The Sims 2 + Expansions
Father : F.E.A.R Expansion + Webcam
Brother : NHL 07 (360) + Call of Duty 3 (360)

They are all going through a gaming craze, its pretty hilarious to walk in their place. The bro's on the couch gunning away at aliens in GoW, the dad and mom are next to each other on their respective computers in the Tech Room (i call it like that because there are a bunch of pc's, routers and additional crap in there) with their headphones on playing.

Mother: a visit from me
Father: I'll probably cook him something.
Brotehr: I can't say becasue he'll read this.
Roommate: I also can't say because she might read this. >.>
Ex-Roommate: Her favorite bodywash and probably something coffee related.
Friend: Freaks & Geeks soundtrack
Boyfriend: Probably something coffee related.
My D&D guys: it's our tradition to get each other a pack of Magic cards.

...I should just get everyone something coffee related. It would make shopping a lot easier. What I really want to do is start giving people really random things at Christmas like pumpkins. Then no one would ever really want a gift from me. >.> (I'm cheap.)

I could buy presents for family and friends... but I've never done that. I co-bought something for a friend of mine though with another friend.

And then I usually buy my presents myself. Yay! :|
