Seems we have one of these every weekend, and I didn't see one for tonights episode. I thought it was outstanding once again. Another spectacular episode in a row like this and I might just have to name BSG as my favorite TV show.

When Kat collapsed on the deck I got all teary eyed. I thought they were going to reveal her as a Cylon, not kill her.

You'd still be a season behind. :P

I liked it as well. Gave some good background.

Even though Kat was a secondary character, she brought a lot to the crew. She'll be missed.

I wasn't really a big fan of her wasn't too sad to see her go

She wasn't supposed to be a likeable character. She was supposed to rub you the wrong way.

What I don't quite understand is why they've actually promoted her when she was apparently exposed to a lethal dose of radiation. And apparently, she was just some smuggler who forged her way onto the ship - how come she knew how to pilot combat spaceship types and could pretend to be military for so long?

The promotion was an honorary thing. It was the Adama's way of saying that she was a valued member of his crew despite her dark past. She basically killed herself because she feared the repercussions of being found out so she decided to make the ultimate sacrifice. No point in damning someone who already damned herself.

Koobie - I'm not 100% sure, but I think Kat was one of the new recruits trained in season 1.

Did anyone catch the names of the other pilots on the briefing room roster? I noticed a couple new faces (I try to keep track of the Galactica's pilots. Yeah, I have problems).

Also, is the show going on hiatus after next week?

They aren't going on hiatus. BSG is playing straight through until the end of the season. That's why it started so late.

That could be. I missed season 1.

I think it's different in Canada. Next week's episode is billed as the 'fall finale' and after that there won't be any episodes until mid January. Which works out great for me because I won't be able to watch Space when I go home for Christmas.

Well, there you go. For once, they aren't breaking it up in the US though.

... Then why did SciFi bill it as a "Season Finale"? I SWEAR that's what I saw. I neglected to record that episode though, so I can't check.

[edit]
Unless I'm reading SciFi's schedulebot completely wrong, or they haven't updated it, after this friday, there aren't any more new episodesuntil after Janurary sometime. NBC is doing the same crap they've been doing.

I believe that I heard somewhere that it was the "mid-season" finale.

Not much of one though really.

But I also think that they are going straight-though, no breaks hopefully

Next week's episode is a great place to hold a mid-season finale.

We get to find out a lot of stuff :D

I thought it was only Jan or Feb?? :(

I remember seeing the schedule and seeing how they timed BSG and SG-1 so that you always had a show to watch. Because, let's face it, almost all the other made for sci-fi movies blow. Stargate and BSG are the only things I pretty much ever watch sci-fi for. They have a tendency to make up ****ty sci-fi films instead of showing good ones.

Yeah seriously who watches that crap.

Almost every station is doing a "holiday hiatus" CSI, Heroes, BSG, etc.

90% of the time yes, but occasionally they come out with something reasonably good. The Lost Room is an excellent recent example. That kicked ***. Though it was more of a miniseries than a made for TV movie, but still.

I can't believe no new Stargate until April! That sucks!!

As for the Lost Room, I saw the first part, and thought it was great. I'm going to try and catch the last two parts during the rerun Sunday. Seems like it's setting up a serial.
