Any people out there take/know Latin? I am in second year and I use a book called Ecce Romani, which is green. I also use the Jenny's latin book.

Until now, I have yet to hear someone describe a book by its color. Now my life is complete.

Thank you JediKirby.

I'm not asking for anything. I want to know if anyone here in the Massassi Forums takes Latin or knows it. That is something you can't google.

Sorry. To tell you more information about the book, I will tell you the ISBN number for the books.

Green Book ISBN: 0-673-57586-1

Jenny's ISBN: 0-205-08723-0

Hope this is better.

Really? I came across it all the time in Computer Science

There was the green book and the white book, they were about graphics, then there was the dragon book about compilers. These books had names but they were pretty much always known by their covers.

I took latin for...6 years. For the first 4 we used Ecce Romani as well. Uncle Titus was a drunkard man. If you haven't gotten there yet, he drinks himself to death! Or at least that's my theory...

Felix in columna sedet. Cogitat 'carpe diem'. :P

I had Latin for six years. Translated Ovidius, Plinius, Seneca and Tacitus.

Anyone know ancient Greek? I had to translate Homerus, Plato, Euripides and Herodotes.

It's been aaaaages though.

My books for Latin were of the 'Via Nova' series.

I took Latin for 2 years. We used Ecce Romani for the first year, then Wheelock's in second. I may pick it up again, but only when I have no other courses going on. I find learning a language to be too time consuming.

People still learn latin?

The only use for it I can think of is so you can read the inscription on the side of £1 coins.
nope.

Had Latin for four years, barely used books though. Our teacher didn't quite need them, he just wrote stuff down which we'd copy and learn from.

Yeah, but O'Reily books all have animals on them, so you can do that.
