anyone have any troubles with battlefront on the little/slim ps2?

mine keeps restarting shortly into the game. doesn't matter which campaign, it's not time sensitive, and it doesn't seem to matter how much is happening on screen (ie it doesn't seem to be video related).
we've exchanged it twice for a new copy so i don't think it's the disc.

i'm not sure and i kinda figure it might be although it happens very quickly relatively speaking. i'm not sure it has time to heat up that much. :/
