If you own a Wii, your remote has been recalled.

The wiimotes are fine. This is just for all the morons in the world that can't keep their greasy hands on their wiimote when they play games.

Quote:
Nintendo just called to let us know that the replacement program is entirely voluntary, and does not constitute a "recall". That means Nintendo apparently doesn't think it's a risk for most people, but if you do you can feel free to get that Wiimote strap.

Also, WTF is a 'Rev'?
Think while it's still legal.

It seems Yoshi didn't the article, and just melted into a puddle of fanboy bliss when he read the word recall. I'll still never quite understand why people celebrate about things that don't effect them in the slightest.

Uh, they are recalling the STRAPS...not the Wiimotes. Read the article thoroughly before posting maybe?

Yoshi's just bitter. About what in particular..? That's anybody's guess..

Uh, I think he's happy that Nintendo is doing a voluntary recall for the remote straps. Not that Nintendo made a mistake.
2006-12-15, 5:39 PM #9
.. He's been one of the biggest anti wii people here. He was happy because it was Nintendo admitting that the wii had a "problem." A problem that only effects idiots who can't hold onto a controller.

I always think it's retarded when people are happy to see a poor product or a products with problems with them. This isn't sports, better products are good regardless of weather you have an irrational bias against the company.

I vote that the title of the thread be changed to something more along the lines of "Moronic people who have sweaty palms and swing their Wii remotes around like crazed gorillas can get a new strap" :P

This totally isn't a recall at all, in any way shape or form.

As everyone else has said... Not a recall. All you have to do is submit some application to Nintendo and they'll send you a new strap. You don't even have to send in the old one.

What? Since the beginning I've enjoyed the prospect of the rev and have really wanted one. Do you know what you're talking about?

Yeah.

The only reason I said "Wiimotes" is because it got more attention, and face it, why have a faulty strap if you can have a better one for free. No, it's not a "recall" or anything like that. Stop ****ing around with semantics--it's a replacement program, which isn't as eye-catching nor would it have more people read it (which would result in less people taking advantage of it.

So... you posted false info to get attention? Nowhere in your post did you tell the truth of the matter.

Seriously, everybody shut the hell up and stop trying to bash Yoshi. This is ridiculous. You've got 3 staff members now in this thread telling you all that you're misinterpreting something, and yet you still continue. Next person who comments on Yoshi, his posting style, or anything negative is getting banned, no questions asked.

Seriously though, what the hell is the 'Revolution?'
Think while it's still legal.
2006-12-16, 10:16 AM #25
It was Nintendo's codename for the Wii. Some people say "Revolution" is a better name and refuse to call it the "Wii".

I'm not returning my Wiimote, I don't intend to flail around like an idiot so I'll be fine. My DS AC adapter doesn't even get warm much less hot so I think I'm good there too.

The old surname? So Miss Nintendo Revolution got married and became Mrs. Nintendo Wii?

You don't have to return it at all. You just fill out the form and Nintendo sends you new ones.

(New straps, not remotes.)

just a reminder that the people in the UK, eruope and australia dont need to do this as they already have a stronger writst strap.

EH, WRONG. All straps have been recalled. Every one issued so far.

You're going by the wrong impression--at first I was skeptical of the Wii, but then decided that it had a lot of promise. There's been bad news about it in the past I've posted, but I've also posted good news. There's no fanboyism here, I was just trying to get more attention so the program would be more effective--even if you don't need it, some people do. Realize that. (Note: This last comment was not neccesarily directed at anyone in particular, except SAJN.)

You don't have to return the remote, just apply for a new strap. It's free, easy, and rather pointless NOT to do ;)

From the article itself:

"Whereas the AC adapter recall is said to be limited to Japan, the Wiimote strap replacement program is most definitely worldwide affecting "all Wiis sold" to date and most of the units still on shelves"
