It just made me happy today is all.

Oh, and just as a reference, my supervisor (on salary) made $20 more than I did. So I just about equaled my boss's pay.

The University of North Carolina has finally found a network server that, although missing for four years, hasn't missed a packet in all that time. Try as they might, university administrators couldn't find the server. Working with Novell Inc., IT workers tracked it down by meticulously following cable until they literally ran into a wall. The server had been mistakenly sealed behind drywall by maintenance workers.

Pff, that's nothing. I know a guy who works for a paving company, they work over 40 hours by Wednesday some weeks. I've seen him pull in over 103 hours of overtime on a paycheck.
2004-07-10, 6:57 AM #14
That's a lot of money. I make $6.50 an hour at a supermarket, $9.75 on sunday, stocking shelves, pushing carts, and general maintenance. They'd never give me hours like that.

You're part time hours amaze me, as they are double the qualification for full-time benefits, at least in my state.

They made me join a union, which takes out $8 a week in dues, and is still taking $5 a week for the initiation fee. Then I get Federal, State, and City Taxes out. State doesn't seem to take that much out when it does, but the city takes a bit. I've gotten $190 checks that were dropped down to $135-$140ish because of various taxes/fees.

Is that for one week or two?
Anyways, I just pulled in a 500 dollar check. Two weeks though. It's crappy wages, 7.25, but it's a fun job (I'm a supervisor as well, get paid more to do less [http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif]) Currently crappy hours as well, too many people working there this year. Last year I was working a couple 12 hour shifts per week, then the rest of the week 6-8 hour shifts.

2 I would guess.

When I'm reffing lacrosse games, I can pull down $400 to $600 in a weekend (includes Fridays). Man, I love that job and I love being one of the senior refs.

Yes, 2 weeks. I wish it were for one. :P

I make US$6.65 per hour when Managing, and US$6.90 per hour when teaching lifeguarding class, which I did for about 20 hours in that pay period. I got so many by taking over a guy's early shift (read: 5-7am) when he went on vacation for a week and a half. Also had a couple of 12 hour days on there. Not to mention that I'm taking summer chemistry at the Uni, so this is all I do.

Still, not bad I say.

As for the guy that works for the paving company - wow. Just wow.
