This kid must have sold his soul to the devil. It's amazing.

I especially like the rhythm on the cymbals around 6:26.

For linking that video, I will be naming my first born son after you.

Incredible.

I'd gladly accept large sums of money instead.

He has to be possessed. A 12 year old with the patience to get that good?

They just have him on the ritalin, and this is where he got his tunnel vision going.

If I had simply listened to that and known he was 12, I would have known right away that he was black. Damn, that is good. :P

When you learn drumming, is there a lesson set aside for spinning-your-drumstick-between-your-fingers?

ha, I wish. Sadly you have to pick that one up yourself.

(it's not nearly as hard as it looks though. Just takes a bit of practice to make it look smooth)

Seen it before. His dad is an amazing drummer. He is quite older now too, not sure how long ago that video was made.

I was going to say, that is some amazing bass drum work, but then I realized he is using 2 pedals. :\

He's really good...but here's my problem with drum solos. They always display great skill and yet always sound terrible. Like nothing I'd call music. I'll take simple and pleasing to difficult and awful sounding any day.

That's not to say that there weren't plenty of parts in there that DID sound good, though. And the kid is amazing.

I agree. Neil Peart's famous live solo in YYZ is a great example.

Would it still be impressive to hear him do the same thing today?

Even as an adult that would be a pretty impressive solo.

And some of us don't think they sound like crap... Some of us like them (Some of us are drummers)

I'd say yes. It wouldn't be a stupid TV show event but the music would be just as good.

I enjoy that solo musically, it seemed pretty random and disjointed in my mind. Hes got skillz though.
