New Laptop

I bought a new laptop today. It's awesome. I'm still in the honeymoon period with it. It's an HP pavilion. Widescreen. Very light. Intel core 2 duo at 1.66 ghz, 2 gb of ram. More harddrive space than I know what to do with. I love suddenly being mobile again. It's so liberating, not being chained to that desktop. Also, the desktop's nice LCD now belongs to the xbox 360, and the desktop is on the nasty crt again. Order is restored to the universe! And now I have 3 old machines to discard. I wonder what building I shall throw them off of...
Wikissassi sucks.

That sounds a lot like mine except for the Ram-- I have only 1 GB. (mine is a HP DV2000.)

It has no pcmcia slots, but the laptop has virtually everything built in, so there's really nothing left to add. Unfortunately, most of the gadgetry-type stuff (memory card reader, wifi, bluetooth, and webcam) is proprietary by nature and uses special WinXP-exclusive drivers, so the laptop is not fully functional under kubuntu, so I had to make it a dual-boot.

Does it have a good screen or one of those shoddy ones where if you're 1 foot to the left or right the image gets all squirrely?

Colors shift with angle like any LCD does. They go metallic from left/right, black from below and white from above.

The point is, LCDs have varying angles before the quality degrades. He's asking if it's a crappy one where you barely move and it goes to hell, or if it is one of the nice ones with a very wide viewing angle.
