Alternate between bathroom and water closet.

I used to say "I have to go to the toilet" quite often in the past without realizing the American and British differences but now the thought of packing inside the toilet (seat) makes me laugh for hours. Or milliseconds.

Anyhow, there was this one tune when I went to take a dump 9 times during one day. I guess I was more full of s*** that day than usually :o

And once a vacuum cleaner had mysteriously appeared in the bathroom. I probably put it there when drunk, but usually I remember the things I've done even in that state... oh well.

I use the term bathroom for domestic locations, but restroom for public ones because that's what they're always called

Ironically the latter tend to be less restful

Bathroom is a good catch-all for me.

Loo or bog, you filthy unbritish heathens.

Hey, Blue? I'm loving the things you do. From the very first time, the fight you fight for will always be mine.

I can't believe so few people call it "restroom"!

It's the bathroom if it's in a residence, the restroom if it's somewhere else.

You have to consider that a lot of the people who voted bathroom probably also call it restroom, depending on where they are. Since you can't vote for both, they just voted for bathroom.

Restroom is for public places.

Bathroom if informal, restroom if formal.

Also, unless said room includes couch or bed it's hardly suitable for resting, especially if there's urine all over the floor

'Restroom' always sounded wrong to me for that very reason.

I usually just say toilet. I rarely use bathroom because in public places it's equally as wrong as restroom.

I got locked in an outhouse once by a 'friend'. And got rescued by some girl. Rather awkward. Why the hell the outhouse had a lock on the outside and not the inside, I have no clue...
