Original PS2 review by Time Magazine.

Such high hopes for technology.

and the article also shoiws that ebay reselling at marked up price is not a new thing, and that people complaining that there are no good launch titles is also something old.

And lol at the comments about the interactive tv thing.

I, personally, think the PS2 was the best console, easily, of the last generation. None of them even came close.

Guitar Hero ffs.

Gee, really? A PS2 launch review is old news? I think all of Massassi should gather and thank you one-by-one, without you, we would all surely be lost as to what old articles are "old news."

Its called a sense of humor. I believe a 6 year old article is worthy of a sarcastic old news post.

Humor (n): An instance of being or attempting to be comical or amusing; something humorous.

Good attempt.

Roach is mad because he didn't get it! :argh:

It was funny, Roach.

Skeptics in the gaming community are flooding the Internet with charges that Sony has created an artificial shortage in a calculated attempt to make PS2 this year's Furby, the gotta-have-it toy of the holiday season. But Sony says it isn't so. "It's absolutely ridiculous to suggest that by limiting our audience we would successfully be pursuing our business goals," insists Andrew House, a Sony vice president.

No, Sony would NEVER do something like that! THE VERY IDEA OF IT

I remember when PS2 came out.

I was pretty meh about the whole thing.

So I went and bought Gamecube the day before christmas, and paid in rolls of quarters.

I did end up getting a PS2, but I can't say I play it as much as I played Gamecube.

Christ, Roach o.O

Anyway, that's pretty toight. I was hoping for it to have some grand hypothesizing on what technoloical feats it would be capable of that had since been proved wrong, but oh well.

Sounds a lot like the PS3, except the PS3 has all the PS2's problems squared and doesn't have an edge on the competition. It might over come all that again, but it'll be harder.

Sony's strategy may have needed a little tweaking. Only time will tell. Nice read.

No you won't. You would bring Massassi to a pit of inferno, and you know it.

Anyway, I almost have to agree with Yoshi. Even though many games came out for both PS2 and Xbox, I preferred the PS2 version, especially when it came to the GTA series. It's sad the think that at the time of this article, Sega was still a contender for the console war.

Only if by inferno you mean inventing reasons to ban all the sucky people secret police style.
