Also, while I never really liked the silhouettes in the begining, I thought the opening credits of this one was incredibly stupid and boring.

The end suggests that she sacrificed herself to save Bond.. if that isn't love, then I don't know what is.

As for the opening, you're not the first person I've seen that said it was stupid and boring. I just simply don't understand this. It's the only opening sequence that actually has any action, how can that be anything but interesting to watch? I'd much rather watch something happening than nothing.

Perhaps, but Bond still remarks "The b**** is dead"

She cared for him, sure. But she was only helping him in the first place to save the man whom she loved, who was not Bond.

Personally, my beef with the opening lies in the computer animation fighting. I can understand the whole card thing, but the fighting didn't really seem to fit in, except that people turned to cards when they died. Stupid idea.
It took a while for you to find me; I was hiding in the lime tree.

Um what? She suicided right when bond had a really easy chance to save her, they weren't even underwater yet . Your interpretation of the scene is confusing.

I'd have been pretty bitter too.

I wasn't referring to that scene, I was referring to the one afterward where after Bond says "The ***** is dead", M describes how she (the girl, not M) gave the money to save Bond's life, and knew they would come after her.

and the fact that she left a message on her phone for Bond telling him who to go after.

Er, I thought she betrayed bond to save her other boyfriend ? Regardless, if she were anywhere near as clever as they made her out to be, all she would have had to do was tell him wtf was going on and he would have been able to take care of the problem.

She was terrified, she'd betrayed the man she'd fallen in love with. Try putting yourself in that mindset and suicide doesn't seem like such a stretch. It's like you're expecting people to behave rationally in these situations.

The story doesn't ever tell you what really happened, it's supposed to be left open for interpretation. The important thing is how Bond chose to inteprete things.

So now he can be a cold-blooded killer who trusts absolutely nobody.

Not if she was being watched closely, as she would have been given the situation.

That's why the story is so flimsy. Why would she suicide when she just saved her *real* true love by betraying bond ? It's goofy. Regardless of whether it's explained properly in the movie or not, that's only one of my many problems with the movie, so even if you guys could find some suitable explanation for why the character did what she did, the movie was still lame, IMO.
