Jack Nicholson made the first film quite a pleasure to watch.

Who's the moron who voted for Batman Forever?

The only good scene in that is the one where Chris O'donnel is doing laundry.

It was probably Tiberium_Empire.

He probably just clicked an option because he doesn't know what we're talking about.

Jack Nicholson kicked all grades of *** as the Joker. I don't have much faith in the remake that they are apparently planning.
2006-12-31, 10:56 PM #8
It's not a remake.

Where is the option for the 1966 Batman?

I voted for the last one because I have only seen the Begins one
2007-01-01, 3:41 AM #12
There can be only one.

Begins

Batman Begins.

begins just pips the original to the point, although i'm surprised Returns doesn't have more votes...

Is it possible for admins to see who voted for each option even if public voting is disabled? If so, permaban anyone who likes Batman & Robin best.

Batman Begins, for sure.

Loved Batman '89 and Batman Returns but I consider them grouped together so they can't be just "the best one."

Batman & Batman Returns were great films, but the gothic feel of Batman Begins without the silliness of the first two movies makes it the chief of the series, in my opinion.

Batman Begins of course, the others pale in comparison.
It's a rare movie that can truly blow me away like that did.

I really don't like any of the Batman films. The Batman cartoons were 10x better then any batman film to date. I wish someone would recreate those cartoons for the big screen a la 300/Sin City style or at least find a good Bruce Wayne actor, every actor who's played Bruce Wayne sucks (Yes you heard correct. Keaton, Kilmer, Clooney, and Bale all suck -Keaton was the least annoying of them all but still annoying).

Batman Begins had some right stupid **** in it.
2007-01-01, 1:59 PM #23
Yes... batman begins was SOOOOOO great. Because all batman movies need a 19 minute car chase, most of which cannot be understood because it's edited poorly and the screen is black for 90% of it.

That movie was mediocre at best.

What?

Hmmm he must be referring [as well as I can dechiper thru the sopping thick layer of cutesie sarcasm] to the car chase scene in which he... drives on a couple of roofs, and then escapes down the freeway... quite clearly?
2007-01-01, 2:19 PM #26
That's the one you're thinking about. It's somewhere in between a pile of un-needed flashbacks and rehashing.

I have to say, I've only seen Batman and Robin apart from Begins, so I'm not sure about the previous, but Begins was better than B&R by a landslide, so...

And yes, Adam West as Batman was fantastic.
2007-01-01, 4:54 PM #28
If it weren't for the flashbacks, we wouldn't know who trained Batman and what motivated Bruce to become Batman...
2007-01-01, 5:04 PM #29
..

Everyone knows what motivated Bruce to become Batman. The death of his parents, duh.

Ra's al Ghul is way more awesome in the cartoon and comic. I was pretty upset about how much they made him suck. The other non-batman story stuff they decided to insert, the REALLY DUMB looking batmobile and it's chase scene are what killed the movie for me.

There is this horrible trend in comic movies. I understand they have to condense, but inserting so many additional elements into WHAT MADE SAID COMIC AWESOME is really starting to get lame.
2007-01-01, 5:15 PM #30
It goes like this:

Batman (66), Batman (89) & Returns, Begins, and the others.

Ranked in order of coolest Batmobile.

Seeing is different from just knowing. The batmobile was done that way in an attempt to make Batman seem more plausible and realistic by having it be a vehicle originally design for use in the military.
2007-01-03, 5:37 PM #32
The new batmobile may not be your stylistic preference, but it's loads less campy and needlessly ornate.
2007-01-03, 5:46 PM #33
I'm gonna point something out that I don't know if you guys know. Here's a guy dressing up like a bat. Plausability is important, right?

I thought it was to be considered that the vehicle was a prototype. Much like how the Batcave is just a damp, empty cave.

I find nothing campy about current versions of the batmobile.

It's totally sleek and awesome most of the time.

I did also. Cause Val Kilmer is an awesome batman. The only other batman that came close was Christian Bale, but Batman Forever wins, because it also has Jim Carrey and Tommy Lee Jones.
If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice.
