Has anyone played lego star wars? What platform? Was it any fun?

I wanted to get it on the DS, but it had mixed reviews. Some say it's fun, others that it's full of glitches.

Eh the first one was awesome but the second suffered from TERRIBLE [Read:never fired a single shot] AI.

Are you talking about the ds version in particular, or all the second ones on all platforms? I really want the second one because I like the original trilogy better.

PS2.
I haven't played the hand held ones.

I played the one on XBox360. It was ok. I found it a little too easy though. I can see that more for a young audience though.
Code to the left of him, code to the right of him, code in front of him compil'd and thundered. Programm'd at with shot and $SHELL. Boldly he typed and well. Into the jaws of C. Into the mouth of PERL. Debug'd the 0x258.

I played the PC one and thought it was fun.

I own LSW2 for the PS2, and it's pretty fun. It's definately meant to be played with a friend.

Alls I know is the Lego Han had more character than half of the video games characters out there. Somehow, they managed to take complete cockiness, and instill it in a Lego man. Brilliant.

I've played through Lego Star Wars I and II on Xbox with my little brother (6 years old). We played them in their entirety, and had a lot of fun. They're not very difficult, but the character animations, facial expressions, and pantomime are well done and often hilarious.

As said, while the gameplay isn't spectacular (durable, though), the character expression, humor and general way of incorporating LEGO into the SW universe is done splendidly.

Yup, agree with the above two.

Like so many other things in life, Lego Star Wars is great fun with a friend but rather boring if undertaken alone.

Played Lego Star Wars II on Xbox and 360. Loved it. Really well done game, and definitely a fun co-op deal.

And yeah, the DS ports sucked. Badly. Everything I've heard about it on handhelds hasn't been glowing in the slightest.

I was shocked when I found out that Vader was Luke's father.

It was probably one of the fullest console experiences I've had on the PSP. I put it down after a month because I got tired of it.

I tried the first one on the PC but the controls were too weird for me. The PS2 version was much easier to play, and very enjoyable at that. Co-op is where it's at :)

I tried the demo on the PC. It was pretty fun, but nothing to get worked up over. I think it would make a great portable game.

Also, I'd like to point out that I was making, from scratch, Star Wars ships out of LEGOs years before they went retail, and mine were better. I had TIEs that were intentionally structurally weak, if you squeezed them top to bottom, they exploded just like the movie. But since they had few parts, they were easy to put back together.

Damn, I should be an aerospace engineer.

If you do, send me a note so I can avoid flying on your easy-to-destroy planes/ships.

I made some stuff like that too, cept they were made from freestyle blocks when I was 8. The TIE was a robust wall attached to another wall with a 4x4 block in the middle.

i fully enjoyed the PC version of the first game even with it's crippled state with ATI hardware (some features that function just fine if you use 3danalyze to make the game think you have an nvidia card were disabled on ati hardware)

Do you have a control pad or something? Or do you use the keyboard/mouse?

I need to install that, I got it for Christmas...

Speaking of DS games, I'm gonna start a thread on Lethal Alliance, or find one...

You can hook an xbox controller up to a computer?
2007-01-03, 10:06 PM #23
The Xbox controller is basically a USB control. There are several online XBox/USB tutorials that involve little more than a USB cable, an Xbox controller (or just an extension), and a pair of wire cutters.
