Well, don't they have free trial sessions time to time? Like a free weekend of playing or something.

Ok then. THat was quick.

I guess I'll just refresh the thread until Tiberium_Empire comes in, and then I can make a terribly cunning and witty remark to make myself seem superior.

If you don't have CS:S, you can buy it along with DoD:S for like 30 bucks. Pretty good deal.

Buy it.

EDIT: Nevermind.

Yes, however be warned sometimes it's hard to find a decent server. I find myself constantly annoyed with trying to find an un-modded server that doesn't do stupid things such as limiting you to a single weapon, or playing a 'grenade only' round, ect. When you can actually play the game for what it is, it's really fun.

Edit: Ok didn't notice that you bought it.

So how do you like it?

I haven't played DoD:S yet, but the original DoD is awesome, so yes, get it.

Absolutely.
Frenchy's Pit (there are two) and Duff's Beer Server are both pretty good.

I tried RO, but it never felt right. I kept thinking about it as base UT2k4 with WW2 maps, guns, player models, and sounds as opposed to a mod that simply uses the mod as a platform.

Well I've never really played my copy of UT2K4 much so I don't know.

But as I understood, the standalone game on steam is completely diffferent from the mod for UT?
nope.

RO plays nothing like UT2k4, at all. The biggest complaint I hear about it it that it's too realistic.

no it plays mostly the same but there are a bunch of features that were added

Its fun but its exactly like I thought it would be...too easy to die and often I dont even get a shot off before I do. Was hoping it would be more like Battlefields survival times.

RO could not possibly be any more different gameplay wise than UTK4. Complete polar opposites. It has nothing in common but the engine.

EDIT: Ahh you're talking about the difference between the UT mod and the stand alone. Nevermind.

That's because the levels are a lot smaller.

You'll get better. I can go a good 10 minutes without dying.
