Does anyone have a Netflix account and what is your opinion of the service? I'm currently in the free trial period and have plenty of time to cancel if I hear anything that I don't like. I'm doing the $9.99/month plan, mainly because my girlfriend and I don't watch 2-3 movies at a time, it's unlimited, and it's cheaper than us renting movies 2-3 weekends a month.

I use it, and like it for the most part. We don't watch 2-3 movies at a time, but we watch them as they come in and return them, so we generally always have a movie ready to watch. We have the 3-at-a-time plan.

We like it for tv shows, too. Like, we've watched almost all of alias, all of dark angel, a lot of andromeda.

I just started the 2 at a time unlimted plan. Got my first two movies today, have a bunch of stuff ready to go to keep me entertained for a while now.

I liked it for awhile, but the throttling part of it made me mad. The trial period they treated me very nice, within 1 day they would have received my movie and sent away the next one. After the trial period, the turnaround time significantly dropped. We're talking sometimes up to 4 days for them to "receive" my disk before they would send me another. So the unlimited rentals isn't completely true, as they will try to make it so a low paying membership does not rent 30 movies in a month.

What was crazy was sending two disks at the same time, and them receiving one two days after I sent it, and the other four days after I sent it.

It's not a huge issue, but to my knowledge they still do it (and it's in the terms that they can do it)

Agree. Which is why I'm not an ecstatic customer who recommends them to my friends anymore. I really used to like them, we'd drop a movie in the mail, and they'd get it and ship the next one the next day, and we'd have it the day after that. So if I put it in the mail monday, I'd have the next movie by Wednesday.

Now they wait AGES before they mark the movie "received" and send the new one. And I think, once they start throttling you, you can't get it removed. They generally do it to people who rent a lot, which we didn't do for a while after we started the account, then we did rent a lot for a few months, and even though we've barely watched a movie or two a week since July, we are still throttled

I emailed their customer service a bunch of times and they just respond with a bunch of canned responses about their policy and about how they are "unable" to "disclose" the full details of the policy and how it "affects" my account.

I get mine pretty quickly - I usually just rip them to my laptop and send them off the same day, so that way I can watch them when I want and not stop the film flow.

Their service is excellent. I've never experienced any issues like above and I've used them for years. Service may slow down due to postal holidays and things outside of their control but generally there is a two working day turn around between me sending a movie back and receiving the next.

I've had Netflix for a while and the service is great. Although sometimes if you return movies too fast, they pretend not to receive them.
