We could get away with the copyrights by including CD checks...

How about Jedi Kites
You could expand upon the physics engine and throw in a wind effect. Then you could use the force to zoom your Kite around and knock stormtroopers off of high cliffs, or you could use it to block out the viewpoints on walkers so you could shoot them from behind!
And don’t forget kite air surfing!

In a sense, yes.

There aren't any technical reasons I couldn't have kept working on it but I pretty much realized that most of the active JK community is a toolbox. There are still some amazing, talented and dedicated people editing the game but by and large I cannot say the same thing about the people who are playing it.

In addition to that, 3D engines are a lot of work and I'd rather put effort into something that is either profitable or technically challenging. The only remotely interesting part about that project was writing the COG VM.

Jeez, when will people stop attempting to remake Jedi Knight in every medium possible.

It's like Pokemon merchandising. No one wants a Bulbasaur vibrator. Please save mankind the shame and stop propagating the brand.
