I just reported an auction to eBay for excessive shipping/handling. $45 to ship a head unit (car stereo)..riight.

I thought about bidding on it, too...but I can't stand people inflating shipping prices..

I remember back when you could buy a Kyro video card for $48 shipped free on Newegg...some guy had it on eBay for bid + $50 s/h..I emailed him about it, and he wasn't happy..heh

Considering that today I got a Big Honkin' Heavy Oscilloscope and the shipping was $30, I'd say you did the right thing by reporting him. Not evil.

Not evil. I see that sort of crap all the time on ebay: a fairly small object (less than a pound) that supposedly costs $20-30 to ship anywhere in the US...

I think that people who artificially inflate shipping prices are despicable.

The worst offenders sell the item itself for practically nothing and then stick you with $30-$40 shipping.

I'm a Computer Engineer. It's a tool I can use for my projects. Maybe build some circuits on my own so I have something outside of school projects to show off. I'm looking to make a career out of this kind of stuff, so I might as well obtain some tools to help me out.

No it's just I thought something like that would be a tad bit more expensive.

Otherwise I'd have one just for the cool-ness factor.

Well, it is analog and only 50 Mhz bandwidth. There's no date on the case, but I'd guess it's about 15 or so years old. Also, it's a Philips. Have you ever heard of Philips producing scopes?
