If you feel too dirty clicking on the Ebaum link, here's a link to the Reuters video piece that also shows you a bit more of the shark's body close-up after it died: http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=0eaf00493c

The teeth on that thing are crazy.

Err, no, that's not a prehistoric shark.

It's a type of shark that usually lives thousand meters below sea level, yet due to a strong current it ended up drifting off to the shallow waters around Japan.

Or it could just have been sick and got disorientated. Along with probably being sick, it was stuck in a drastically different environment that wouldn't have helped and it died shortly after being caught and placed in a salt water tank.

Wow. That is really cool, especially since they didn't just take a grainy black and white photo and throw it back to the sea... :ninja:

That was creepy, but the video lacked blood and gore.

The thing wasn't sick, or so medical examiners claim. It simply couldn't cope with the difference in pressure after moving from a kilometre below sea level, to just a few meters below it.

Poor retarded shark :saddowns:

The thing looks like it can barely swim, it's so top-heavy. No wonder it's prehistoric.

That's a pretty cool shark. Notice the six gill-slits. Most six-gilled sharks went extinct millions of years ago, though a few, like this one, survive in the deep ocean.
