I'm learning a program called Solidworks. It's more for industrial use, but it's a 3d design program nonetheless.

Sketchup is fun and easy for doing really quick 3D models of things, but it's pretty limited if you want to do much more than blocks and triangular prisms with textures on them. You should learn JED. Best 3D modeler ever.

Learning 3DS Max and Maya. Both very good, powerful programs. At the moment, I like Maya better, because the layout seems more intuitive and it's simpler to render/animate with.

I use Inventor 10 at work, and eventually I have to repair my 3DS install.

It's probably a demo disk. There's an electronics expo that rolls through town every year, and the software vendors are selling illegals copies of demo CDs. The lawyers for the companies of said software can't keep up with the vendors.

No, it's much more powerful than that. But it's really meant for design, not 3D modeling. Things like architectural design, when someone has to pitch an idea of what a building will look like. They aren't going to use CAD to do that, it would take forever.

Yeah I'm sure its real. Especially since I'm buying it from my friend.

But is it the full version? $11 for lightwave does not compute :(

My friend's parents work for NewTek and his parents have spare programs and he sells them to other people.

I gave him my old iPod a while back so he's just giving me it for a great deal. He lives 2,000 miles away.

Not that I think there's anything wrong with that, but he should know that that is very much illegal.

I'm the only person he would sell it to me for $11.

Yeah, but you made it sound like he sold them to anybody on eBay?

Do you have a link to the auction page? Even when closed you can still view them.

Ignore this kid. He's always vaguely talking about pirating software right on the forums.

To Emon: Sorry, but I refuse to show you the auction page. I would like to keep my friend remaining incognito. Try searching if you want.

To Rob: Define always. Show me ALL of my posts that I have mentioned about pirating. I believe it was my World of Warcraft Bot thread 3 months ago? Don't say **** about me, especially if you can't find multiple threads proving your ****ing point.

Hey Warlock.

It's called an expression.

But you have made alot of threads and posts vaguely asking for ways to pirate WoW.
