I can get one for about ten bucks here, but I'm not familiar...it'll allow me to play console games using my PC monitor..?

Looking at the system requirements, it looks like you use the computer itself instead of the console... Interesting.
"Jayne, this is something the Captain has to do for himself"

"N-No it's not!"

"Oh."

No it doesn't, it looks like rendering a high framerate feed to a window is hardware intensive and needs a good computer.

Does this allow me to play console games using the PC instead of a television..?

This is why the xbox has a vga cable. Besides, if emulators have taught you anything it is that console games are better played with gamepads than keyboards.
Wikissassi sucks.

I'm just trying to figure out what this does...am I missing something completely obvious? :psyduck:

I'm pretty sure it puts the output of the console in a window on your computer.

From what i can gather its a nifty thing that takes in the signal from the console, does some resolution changes then puts it in a window. And some other stuff like a FRAPS type thing.

That's the best I can figure too...I don't have a TV in my room, and this could be rather handy. Hmm. 1024x768 won't look right on my LCD, though...it'd have to be windowed (read: small)..

I was curious if anybody has used one and knows 100%-for-sure what it does. Maybe I'll look for some reviews or something.

It looks like a cheap video in adapter (like what you'd find on a TV Tuner, only lamer). The ability to increase the resolution looks damn near useless, and probably attributes to why it was discontinued.

You'd have to run it in NTSC resolution (which is a heck of a lot smaller than 1024x768) to keep it from looking like a stretched ugly mess.
