I was curious to start a thread about people's various moviemaking hobbies, the whole thing kinda being prompted by Brian's "A Killing in the Woods." Do many Massassians (other than, obviously, Cazor) have any short films/mockumetnaries/etc. they've made?

I'm also curious what kind of camcorders/software people use. I've just managed to track down a Panasonic PV-GS500 for a really good price, so I'm hoping I can start creating some pretty good quality stuff.

Also, has anyone else heard about the Steven Spielberg filmmakers TV show? It's really interesting, take a look - http://www.thelot.com/

I work on a public access TV show from time to time. Theres a **** load of free equipment you can use that no one except bored elderly people ever take advantage of. Usually use Adobe Premier for editing in conjunction with other programs for stop animation and effects.

I shoot with a Sony Z1U that has a M2 Cinema Lens Adapter with a 55mm lense on it.

I edit on pretty much any NLE program I can get my hands on, but I prefer Vegas 7.0.

I'm really looking forward to The Lot. Although I am a bit apprehensive because most amateur films I can hardly sit through.

I use a MiniDV cam. Actually there are 2 different types, mine, and the one from my film class. For editing I use Adobe Premier and Final Cut Pro. I dont have any videos to post. But I'll soon have one where we had to recreate a Volkswagon commercial shot for shot.

Real men take 60-second video clips on their digital cameras, while recording audio on their MP3 players, and sync it up later.

(hey it worked for my chaingun video :o )

I've won a couple film festivals, including a college and regional one. I won second in a state SkillsUSA contest, and nearly went to nationals. I love filmmaking, and I hope to do it the rest of my life (hopefully as a career).

I prefer Vegas, though FCP works for me also. I don't really own a nice camera, but I usually use my job's XL1 or betacam. I'm eyeing those new HD Canon cameras, but alas, I'm poor.

Yeah, this far the largest was this 15-minute film I made with two of my friends as a school project last year.

Kinda neat.

Besides that I mostly just make Deus Ex-related videos with Vegas.
