I just watched it today so that I could add another notch to my belt. [Droids, Ewoks, and Ewok Adventures still sitting on the shelf for the right time. R2-D2: Beneath the Dome, though, makes me eternally gleeful].
I really don't see it as bad as a lot of people seem to be saying. I mean, yeah, /lots/ of kitsch, but it is sort of an interesting contrivance about "how the other half lives", that is the domestic or political scope of things outside of Jedi-in-training and Princess-in-distress. For example, I find the idea of there being animated shorts distributed about the alleged adventures of Han Solo absolutely hilarious and awesome.
Several things rather bothered me, though:
1- Dirty old wookiee man getting off on vr softcore non-wookiee pr0n. Brrr? [Though after watching Farscape, this really shouldn't bother me :p]
2- For that matter, /all/ the wookiee media/entertainment seemed to star non-wookiees. Weird.
3- What's with all the wookiee-tech? I always imagined them living a lot simpler.
4- I really hated how the inside of the wookiee hut looked, it was wayyy too Everybody Loves Lucy and not nearly viney and jungley and organic enough for my vision.
5- The ease with which the railing broke terrified me of falling :O
6- Chewie has a wife and kids?!?!
Not so much an irk, but interesting:
1- Did anyone else see an /extreme/ and eerie resemblance between the water dinosaurs design [neck and head at least] to Gungans? The point where it stuck its tongue out to slurp up the wreckage was absolutely striking in that regard.
Also, I can kill you with my brain.
