Help with ActiveSync.

I've got an HTC smartphone, and I'm using ActiveSync to charge the battery and synchronize files and whatnot. Been doing this for about six months with no problems..

Until recently.

This last week, I set up an alternate User Account for my girlfriend on my computer. Now whenever we switch between accounts, ActiveSync disables the USB connection. It's not a terribly huge problem, because I can just re-enable it through the Connection Settings, but it's kinda frustrating to have to keep doing that every time we switch between users.

Anyway, anyone familiar with this? Or is there a setting in Windows that disables USB connections when User Accounts are changed and if so, is there some way to change it?

The one thought that occurs to me is that she has a Limited Account. Maybe if I set her up with Administrator settings? I'm gonna play around with the User Account settings for a bit, but if anyone has any suggestions to steer me in the right direction, please let me know.

(Oh and quick question. How do I get into the Admin User Account panel? I know there's a Run command that will get me there where I can set stuff like password expirations and stuff, and I think my answer is probably in there.. But I can't remember how to get there)

ActiveSync is just a program, it's not a service. Its task ends when you log out. I think you might be able to get around it if you just use Switch User/Quick Switch, but I don't think so.

I believe they solved this oversight in Vista. At least my PDA hasn't had problems like this.

Edit: It does occur to me that ActiveSync only syncs with the open user account anyway. I don't think it's designed to leave your phone hooked up to it 24/7. I'd suggest picking up another charger and just using USB when you want to put files on it.

Well, I haven't been logging out, just using Switch User, and it disables the connection automatically.

Anyway, I don't mind if it's not syncing when I'm not logged in. It's just a pain to go back in and change the connection settings every time.
