The battle draws near. Who will win the Democratic nomination in the coming year?

NOTE: Democratic Primary is NOT the Presidential election.

I don't know anything about it, but it's between a black guy and a woman, so I'm going to go with an Anonymous 3rd person.

I don't think that Hillary will win.

Side note: We're still a year plus away from the nominations. ANYTHING can happen. Hillary can suddenly turn into a ravaging monster and eat babies and people named Dave and Obama can become a white guy.

I'm (I guess) republican, but I do care who wins this. I don't even want Hillary to have a CHANCE at winning the democratic side, just so I don't have to worry about it.
2007-02-14, 4:26 PM #19
There's enough Anti-Hilary sentiment around to pretty much guarantee she doesn't get the nomination.

I'd say Obama or Edwards, unless the Republicans can put someone besides Gulianni or McCain up against them.

That may be true on gamer sites, but I wonder what the sentiment is like in the real world.

no, I've run into more anti-Hillary sentiment than I can remember off this site.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: How many people do we have in this country? Can't we come up with some better candidates?

Obama, with out a doubt. And he will almost certainly win the presidency, if he's doesn't come off as too liberal.

Obama president?

I've got nothing against the guy, he seems like a genuine guy. But winning the presidency? No chance in hell.
2007-02-16, 1:54 AM #34
there should have been a simple "not Hillary" option on this poll. i really doubt Obama will be able to win the presidency though, even if he did win the democrat primary.

I'm not sure Guiliani can win the Republican candidacy, much less the presidency. He has a lot of baggage:

  • His first marriage was annulled after fourteen years because he discovered that his wife was his second-cousin.
  • His second marriage dissolved after he took a mistress. His second wife found out they were getting a divorce when he announced it at a press conference.
  • He then married his mistress after a nasty, public divorce.
  • He is pro-choice (though he hasn't been entirely consistent on this position)
  • The Farmersville garbage scandal
  • Serious criticisms about New York's preparedness for terrorist attacks prior to 9/11 (True, most of his good reputation comes from his handling of the situation after the attacks)

These things have the potential to alienate social conservatives who would be important to win over in the Republican primaries. Don't get me wrong, I think Giuliani is definately a serious contender, but he also has a lot skeletons in his closet to drag out.
2007-02-16, 11:47 AM #40
So what? We've forgiven worst. All he has to do and get out ahead of them. The very worst thing he could do was hide or deny his past, the very best thing he could do is stand up and say "Yeah, so what?"

You are all, of course, forgetting one important thing. His name is Barack Hussein Obama. It's a damn good thing middle names don't appear on the ballot, or he'd have even less of a chance.
Wikissassi sucks.
