Rather im looking for something that, upon a pressing a key starts a preset music playlist.

Winamp?

An mp3 player?

Oh wait, you already failed at that.

I've never found a program that when you press "Play" won't start a playlist if it supports playlists

Which is old software.

Winamp, iTunes, Windows Media Player, VLC, anything that plays .pls or .m3u files.

It's called minimizing.

Nothing really does that.

Start playing your playlist then start the game.
Pissed Off?

TE's always saying how bad his computer is... how can it play music and games at the same time?

Either way, Winamp still. Global Hotkeys.
2007-02-14, 9:16 PM #12
The only way you could do that with a simple push of a button would be if you had a keyboard that has a button that launches your mediaplayer. I don't think there's a program that would do that.

Start winamp before you open the game. Have a playlist that's quite large with varied music.

Use Global Hotkeys feature to change songs while ingame, on that playlist.

That's about as good as you're going to get.

Global hotkeys ftw. I always used to use winkey+c to pause/resume music while I was gaming (especially important when I played CS and HL still had that bug where minimizing would cause your sound to stop working).

But will it work on Windows 98?
2007-02-15, 6:56 AM #16
Why wouldn't it work with the most functional and stable release of Windows to date? :v:

Because developers keep using those ridiculously low-performance and unstable new APIs. :v:

Especially the security ones. :v:

I <3 Winamp.

Guess because I'm too lazy to change to something else. Still use the classic skin too.

Winamp is good, especially with the enhancer plugin.

Still, I would like it if Amarok was ported to windows (and it will be, for version 2.x)

TweakUI can assign those special keyboard keys to whatever functionality you desire. It's like one of those global keyboard programs but it's built into the OS. Of course one of those programs might do what you want as well.
