Interesting. Al Qaeda has threatened Venezuela, one of the most-vocal non-terrorist opponents to the US.

Further proof that terrorists are illogical beasts that need to be wiped from the surface of the planet.

It's perfectly logical and has everything to do with money and nothing to do with geopolitics.

The higher-ups of most terrorist groups tend to actually be quite affluent and well-connected. The Sauds, Osama bin Laden... hell, Yasser Arafat was on the list of the 100 richest people in the world before he died, while his people lived in absolute poverty. Do you think Al Qaeda was talking about Saudi Arabia when they sent threats to countries that supply oil to the United States? HA!

The higher-ups in the US government are all quite affluent and well-connected as well, and invested heavily in oil. The US didn't go to Iraq for oil, but I can guarantee to you that the Bushes made a fortune from the skyrocketing oil prices over the last 8 years.

So you know what? They're all *******. Everybody, on both sides, is a self-interested megalomaniacal sociopath, and we (citizens, consumers; Americans, Arabs, ...all of us) get caught in the middle because $100 Billion just isn't enough for some fat old *******.
