Ever have one of those weeks where you know you won't be sleeping at all?

So, it's the last week of classes for me before winter break and I have a ton of work to do before the end of the week.

I have a 15 page research paper for my Population and Resources class due on Friday.

2 lab reports due for my Terrestrial Resource Ecology class due on Thursday

A presentation for the above class to be given on the last day of class

I'm sure there is more, but I can't remeber right now

*finishes off 5th cup of coffee of the night and goes to kitchen for more*

So, relate times when you've had an *** load of things to do and not enough time to finish them

Well, I would, but your lack of periods sickens me.

It's in list form, which requires no periods, so there. Ha!

My sleep schedule as of late is very messed up. I've been sleeping in the afternoons early evenings, and staying awake late at night and during the day.

I've got a thread going now explaining that I just finished my degree. I had 6 hours sleep in the 72 hours before my project was due. I had to...

- Write a 40 page engineering report (but I went over - it ended up being 56 pages plus appendices)
- do full 3D CAD of a Snow Vehicle - not just the outside shape, but all the guts of it and mechanical engineering
- full scale photoreal model of the snow vehicle (1.5metres long)
- 20 minute digital presentation in powerpoint
- Finite Element Analysis of one major component of the snow vehicle
- 6 A3 sized boards with renderings of the vehicle and explanations of the product need and overview of technical information.

Yeah I got tons of stuff to do before Friday too... looks like no sleep for me.

I know your pain. Last quarter, I had to design a device to measure the solid height of a helical compression spring, except that we had to analyze every component of the device. Modeling and rendering it took me 8 hours alone... our school CAD software isnt the most user friendly.

Just curious - which FEA program do you use? I've been learning Strand7 of late and I'm lovin' it!

Back on topic - My week this week...there shall be no sleep...
(I'm doing a "whose line is it anyway" type show with some mates from uni - improv society)

Sun - improv 2-5, pool match 6-11
Mon - Lectures 9-5, Clubbing for mate's birthday
Tue - Lectures 9-4, improv 7-9, revue 9-10:30, last orders with mates
Wed - Lectures 9-12, Rock climbing this afternoon, Drinking games tonight then clubbing again...
Thu - Just one lecture at 2:15, snooker 5-6, improv 7-9
Fri - Labs all morning - Radio show 6:30 - 8, then clubbing at the student's union
Sat - improv 2-5
Sun - imrpov 2-5
Mon - Improv performance (people are going to pay to see us, so the show better be good by then!!)

Not much sleep due to nerves, (have never done off the cuff improvised comedy in public), but plenbty of exhaustion to try and combat this!

Tomorrow I'm gonna wake up around 1 or 2, watch the cricket on TV, play a little KotOR, and weather allowing and mood persisting, head down to the driving range and hit a few hundred balls.

Oh man... I just stayed up the whole night studying for a Math Exam that I know I'm going to BOOM. My brain is definately on a smoke break and I doubt it's coming back anytime soon. Oh well... I guess getting a BAD grade is better than getting NO grade so I might as well go down to the college and just boom the test since skipping would be pretty bad. I'll probably get something like a C+ on this. I got a freaking B on the last test despite that fact that I missed NONE on the practise test that I took an hour before the actually test.... Grrr!!!! I don't like any grade lower than an A-. I want a GPA of at least 3.5, damn it all to HELLL!!!

Today, in about 6 hours, I will go to Best Buy, buy Soul Calibur II (GCN), and spend every waking moment playing it until Monday at 8:40am, at which point I will rush to school, take may last two tests, then play Soul Calibur II until Christmas, when I will unwrap the Xbox and games I bought myself, then play Halo and Knights of the Old Republic until the new school year. (Hooray for run-on sentences)

I'd complain about my hideous yearbook spread deadline, but I'm to the point where I don't care about doing school work right now. Ok, I'm gonna go play some more guitar [http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif].

I used Cosmosworks, which is an application for Solidworks. Pretty easy to use, but maybe not the most accurate. Whatever you do, don't do FEA in I-Deas, unless you want to punch your fist through the computer screen at some stage.

Currently. Thuogh i suppose 'passing out at keyboard, waking up long enough to drag self to bed and pass out again' counts as sleep.

Archeologists near Mount Sinai have discovered what is believed to be a missing page from the Bible. The page is currently being carbon dated in Bonn. If genuine, it belongs at the beginning of the Bible and is believed to read "To my darling Candy. All characters portrayed within this book are fictitous and any resemblance to persons living or dead is purely coincidental." The page has been universally condemned by church leaders.

Bargainous - I've done a wee bit of solidworks meself! Strand has the rather handy ability to import solidworks files, then automesh them for the FEA. As it happens I found it easier to just build my (damn sexy) bridge in strand from scratch, but a mate of mine in his fourth (final) year has been modelling the human inner ear in solidworks - then dumping it into strand for some rather groovy fluid-membrane interaction stuff - rather cool...

(When did I get this *sad*!?)

Oh, and on topic I got plenty of sleep after the drinking games last night - it all got a bit silly... I ended up with a dirty pint...ick.
