A mattress store in my town has had one of those lame red/yellow fan-powered "dancing man" balloons out by the road for the past 3-4 years. I would think that the idea of something like that is to put it out TEMPORARILY to draw attention to the place, such as for a sale, but now it's completely faded into the rest of the landscape.

Exothermic - This is known as Golf Sale syndrome. No matter where you are in britain, no matter at what time, in one shop in the city there is a perpetual golf sale, and therefore always a man standing somewhere with a GOLF SALE sign. It may have originally began to draw attention to a shop, but now it's just a landmark. Although once me and someone else did actually go looking for the shop with the sale in edinburgh and couldn't find it leading us to believe that the Golf Sale sign man is only lonely and seeking attention.

We have had a mattres store with for since i was born.
Still boggles the mind that its still standing.
