RIT '11

Just got my acceptance packet today, as did a few friends. I know there's a fairly prominent RIT showing here, so anyone else apply/receive word?
2007-02-22, 3:28 PM #2
I was thinking about going there for graduate school. I hear a MFA from RIT carries some serious weight in the professional world.

RIT = no

Ozark/Oklahoma Christian colleges are the two school I got accepted at. Now I'm having a terrible time deciding between the two. If only the answer were clearer...

Fitchburg State College. Wooooooooooooooooooooooo!
Think while it's still legal.

Well, if you mean OCU, then you should take into account that OCU is in Edmond, which is near Oklahoma City, whereas Ozark college or whatever is in...missouri? I'm not sure much else needs to be said here. ;)

Be aware that the Ozarks are a secluded part of Missouri where rednecks from the south mysteriously migrated. It's a bit of a pocket of suck.

I have never heard of that school in my life. Is going to an unheard-of school good these days?

It has a film program better than Emerson, so I don't care if you know it or not.

If you're going to brag about your school's film program you had better be going to USC, NYU, or OU Athens.

Why is it you always know about this unknown stuff that is apparently godlike? Your little poet (who sucks), your film school, etc etc. I'm just curious. Is it good luck, or just fantasy/illusion?

Oh for christ sakes, stop with the school rank bickering. Where the hell did you two go to? Harvard? Oxford? Olympus?
2007-02-22, 6:10 PM #14
I'm still 18 and not going to a school, but I know Emerson is the top film school at the moment...I doubt some unheard of school is better. Why? Big name schools draw better professors and strengthen themselves--the only way his uni would be better is because they have some unknown and very talented professors/programs. Not to mention film schools require a lot of money to run good programs, and unheard of schools likely have less money.

Emerson isn't the best film school around, but it's damn good. Fitchburg has a better film program, I didn't say they have better professors and stuff. I don't know that for sure. But WHAT they teach you and what equipment they use is on par with (and in some cases better) than Emerson. Also, i wasn't trying to 'show off' I was just pointing out how Bill was a moron. Also, Yoshi, STFU. kthx.

LETS START TALKING ABOUT R.I.T.

I go there. You'll come here, I'll talk to you once, we'll see each other on the quarter mile and it'll be awkward. I still haven't met 2 or 3 people here.

It's a good school, bring a scarf.

Cease the bickering about schools and about each other.
Code to the left of him, code to the right of him, code in front of him compil'd and thundered. Programm'd at with shot and $SHELL. Boldly he typed and well. Into the jaws of C. Into the mouth of PERL. Debug'd the 0x258.

Nearest IT near me is Cal Tech, I doubt I'll be applying there. Pretty darn hard to get in. <Campus is sweet>

RIT looks like a good school with the Co-ed stuff.

It should just be noted that Fitchburg State College's film program is exceptional -- I live nearby, and I have had a couple of friends who have gone there for it.

I, too, am an RIT'11er.

CS program is 5 years... sonuva...dog.

But, like fish said, it's a good school.

Bring two scarves.

I forgot you were at KU T_T

You'd better be going to the Explosions in the Sky show in Lawrence on the 31st!

I'm in the Burbank area, so it would take I'd say...15 min. drive? Possibly less to Caltech.

Do you mean co-op? Co-op is quite beneficial in the long run in terms of career opportunities after graduation and the academic-industry connection.
