... at the last scene from Heroes.

Just when we find out Mr. Bennet is, for the most part, a good guy, he gets killed off (well its just a memory wipe, but his character might as well be dead).

btw I'm a little disappointed that they brought in Eric Roberts aka worst actor ever to play Bennet's boss.

Same here. :( I always kind of figured him to be a good guy though. While they played him off as evil, he never really seemed too bad when it came to Claire.

That was a really good episode though. And the previews for next time...what's up with Simone? o_O Maybe she really is a bullet catcher?

When Claire came out of the house, she looked sick.

And if you noticed in the preview for next week, Mr Bennet is still in it. I think he was supposed to kill the Haitian (like he did the invisible guy) but they're pretending the Haitian got the jump on him and kidnapped Claire so they don't have to turn her over to OWI.

This is what I got out of it, but I didn't see the preview.

I think you got it mostly right. Bennet and the Haitian have been hiding Claire this whole, but they made it seem to OWI that it was all Haitian doing it (which is why Bennet told Eric Roberts that the Haitian "ran away" after the house was almost nuked). So then they stage the scene to make it look like the Haitian intercepted Bennet and Claire on the way to OWI, shot Bennet, erased his memory, and kidnapped Claire and went into hiding.

As for Simone, either she has a power, which would be lame, or Peter can transfer his healing power to her temporarily. I dunno, I guess we'll see in a week.

Then again, I didnt really notice Bennet in the preview, but they did end the episode right when the Haitian touched his head, so his memory hasnt been erased yet, and the whole memory erasing process might get interrupted at the beginning of next episode.

She still had the blood and bullet holes in the preview.

Maybe he found a way to heal her using Claire's power.

I'm currently watching the most recent episode, I'm actually enjoying it a lot. But I can't help but wonder, are they going to form small teams of "heros" in the next seasons? I don't know how well that'd go...

Bennett didn't tell the Haitian to erase everything, just "anything that might lead them to her". Seems to me that would leave lots of stuff.

Btw, I got it off iTunes (see Anti-Heroes thread). The streaming vid off NBC's site really sucked this week.

Simone doesn't have powers, that's been stated from the writers multiple time. Her character is dead, but she's still going to be in the show, much like how we saw in the preview clip. I'm thinking it's an emotional scar, and since we know Peter's powers seem to stem from his emotions, that could manifest itself in interesting ways.

So I still don't understand... what does OWI do? What does Hiro's dad have to do with it? Who does the Haitian serve?
2007-02-28, 1:36 AM #16
So does this episode mean that Hiro's father is the super-villain / leader of the "heroes control" organization?

Oh, and another thing. Remember how nobody could use their powers when the Haitian was around in the earlier episodes? Whatever happened to that?

1) No, but he's up there

2) I think the only person that was canceled out was Parkman due to the nature of his power. Nathan was still able to fly away, and he was standing arm's length away from them.

He also cancelled out Eden's power in the "6 months ago" episode.

And both Parkman and Eden's powers are/were mental, I think that has a large amount to do with it.

Who says the Hatian's powers have to be on all the time? Maybe he can stop anyone's powers, but it's not automatic.

Everyone's power are mental. Its all in the brain, according to Sylar.

that's what i was thinking... instead of an always on power it's a controlled power and he can switch it on and off...

remember he was there when eden used her power on sylar... and IIRC sylar tried to use one of his stolen powers which would suggest control over who's powers are blocked

This is my theory:

Claire and the Haitian team up with Sylar and go against everyone else, forcing nathan to accept his powers and forcing peter to control his (one of which will be the ability to pick thoughts out of someone's mind, like the haitian) only he will be immune because his powers' aren't latent. OR, conversely, he has to learn his, so he will be weakened, which would further develop the plot in a different line it's been going of him being uberpowerful.

Just my take.

I hope the next episode would just be Peter fighting Sylar. That'd be pretty fun.

I meant that they affect or observe the mind of another, they don't have a physical manifestation.

I think Sylar would just want to kill both of them off and take their powers for his own.

Yeah, I'm sure Sylar would rather be invincible than have a useless invincible friend.
2007-03-01, 10:31 PM #35
I dunno, I don't think Sylar can defeat Peter by any means, and maybe he'll realize that too. We'll see I guess.

I agree, in a way. No matter what, Peter will have at the very least the same abilities as Sylar (as soon as he's around Sylar, obviously), but most likely more abilities, his only handicap is he seems to be more emotionally unstable, and his ability to mimick others requires emotional control.
