How do you back/forward
2007-02-27, 6:58 AM #1
I use the browser's toolbar mostly with an occasional nervous backspace when the google result I'm looking at is way off.

What about you?

If you're asking what I think you are, I use the little numbers at the bottom of the screen. :P

I'm an avid "back" user. Whenever I'm surfing forums, news, etc.

On a mac I hit the back button on the browser toolbar, otherwise I use the "back" button on my mouse on my pc.

Buttons on my mouse. I've had mice with buttons for forward/back for years and now can't live without them.

I use the backspace key and CTRL+Right arrow or whatever forward. Occasionally I use the browser button if my left hand is far away.

In fact, I use the keyboard a lot. The page-up/down and home/end keys are very useful.

I use a mix of the keyboard backspace key, and my mouse's buttons.

mouse, all the way.
2007-02-27, 7:19 AM #11
Generally I use the keyboard about 70% of the time for basic actions (back/forward/refresh/etc.) while I'm developing. Actually my fingers rarely leave the F keys.

I use a mix of toolbar and keyboard. I actually have the mouse buttons but I don't use them (for browsing at least... they're very useful in FPS games)

2007-02-27, 7:48 AM #13
Most of the time I press one of the extra buttons on my mouse.

After that I mostly click on the toolbar buttons.

I use backspace to go back, and the browser toolbar button for forward. Mostly because I never learned the keyboard shortcut for it :D

Page up/down and the Home/End keys are useful, too.

Edit: what the hell? I liked the old embarrassed grin smiley...':D' will have to do.

I use a combination of mouse gestures, a back button on my mouse, and the backspace key.

Backspace, mouse gestures (if I have one plugged in), click in the browser.

In that order of preference

I click the back button, but now that I just learned about these buttons going back and forth, I think I'll start to use them. I mostly open things in new tabs though, so not many tabs go "back"
I had a blog. It sucked.

Backspace to go back and shift+backspace to go forward. Occasionally I use the toolbar.

I use the gesture where holding right mouse button and clicking the left mouse button takes you back and vice versa. Really handy.

Mouse button for back. I rarely need to go the other way, so it's the browser button for those times.

Because I don't have an mx510, but a somewhat older Logitech.

I usually use a combination of a little of everything but I mostly use my mouse's button 4 and 5 for back and forward. When I'm using a Mac at school those, I use the browser since most Macs only have one button :argh:

Special buttons on my fancy mouse.
I can't stand to browse without a back button on my mouse.

At work, where I don't have a fancy mouse I really appreciate Konqueror's option to go back with a short right click.

I used to use mouse gestures religiously, but since then I haven't.

I've been using firefox lately, where I don't have them installed, but I suppose if I got into Konqueror again, I'd use them, since they're on by default.
