Major language warning.

I think it's awesome to see a talented comedian like Joe Rogan calling out a hack like "Ned."

I'm going to see Rogan this weekend. It should be interesting considering all of this happening as of late...

I never liked Mencia. Its not that his racial jokes are offensive, he only uses racial jokes.

I'm not surprised he steals material.

Mencia's first standup was good, I thought.

Everything afterwards screamed of kiddy humor, idiocy, and repetition. I'm not surprised he steals jokes, to be honest.

Joe Rogan contacted HBO about Mencia's first half-hour standup special and got it pulled from the air permanently for the almost entirely stolen content.

Oh, I don't know anything about that.

All I know, is in the mid-to-late 90's, HBO had a series of relatively unknown comedians do half-hour stand-up specials. Mencia was one of these comedians. His special only aired a few times. Rogan called HBO because he noticed a lot of Mencia's routine was ripped from old Richard Pryor acts and such. He and Mencia were friends up until that point, and then he lost all respect for him.

The most bizzare thing is, all of the material he steals, the people he steals it from do it better than he did. Yet he's still more popular.

All blues musicians are thieves. They all totally use the same note progressions. What a bunch of hacks! THIS **** IS TOTALLY SIMILIAR!

Hey guys. Every painter you know who has ever used; perspective, color, shape, form, motion, and maybe even talent are all thieves. I mean, what about the guys that did those things first. What a bunch of hacks.



It's a very generic style of humor. Yes I've seen it before. No, I'm not much of a fan of his material. It is very similiar to alot of other crap out there. But guess what, thats the ****ing point.

Rob, blues artists don't copy others' work note for note, and painters don't copy others' work stroke for stroke. Mencia basically copies **** word for word.

No, the blues, for the most part, just uses the same progression of notes.

Painters for the most part employ techniques developed and pioneered by other artists, on mediums they didn't invent.


I can't say whether or not he has honest intentions or not, but haven't you ever said something funny not realizing it's been done before? It's a fairly common occurance, even in your own writing, that you may not even be aware of.

Either way, I totally don't care.

Most comedians use the same sort of technique. They introduce a joke, they explain the premise, and they tell the punchline. This is similar to a blues progression.

And for the record, there are about fifty million ways to play G,C,D. There's only one way to tell that joke about Mexican's building that wall.

This isn't anything new, Rogan has had a website dedicated to this for awhile. Mencia sucks because he's a fat liar, and Rogan sucks because he killed the Man Show.

I think the whole man show thing is funny, because once Joe Rogan and Doug Stanhope took over it got REALLY sexist. And then in an un-aired episode of fear factor Rogan told a male contestant he was going to break his arm for making sexist comments. The guy got scared and litterally ran away.

Thats an f'ng ridiculous comparison. If Joe Rogan was mad at Mencia for stealing the idea of standing on a stage and using a microphone to communicate with an audience then maybe you would have something.
